Located in Yuzhong district, the Hongyadong Folklore Zone perches on a hillside and stands by the Jialing River, with a floor area of 50,000 square meters. The Folklore Zone features stilted houses with the distinctive local architectural style. As a tourist resort and holiday destination, it also offers its best catering and entertainment services and shopping facilities.

The old Chongqing City has 17 gates, of which nine were open, and the other eight remained closed. The Tongyuanmen Gate is the only well-preserved gate by the land route. Located in Qixinggang, Yuzhong District, it was built in the first year of the reign of Emperor Hongwu of the Ming Dynasty. In 2005, the City Wall Ruins Park was set up beside the gate, mainly consisting of three section of the city walls, a square and statues.

The Chaotianmen Square is located where the Yangtze River joins the Jialing River in the northeast of Chongqing. The Chaotianmen Gate was first built in 314 B.C. and was rebuilt in the early Ming Dynasty. Known as the “Magnificent Pass to Ancient Yu”, The gate was the largest walls. It was also known as Chaotianmen, or the Gate of Paying Tribute to Heaven, because it was the place where local officials received the imperial decrees.

On the western side of the People’s Square, the Chongqing China Three Gorges Museum is well known for its dedication to the protection, study and display of the historical and cultural heritages in Chongqing and the Three Gorges area. The main architectural structure of the museum is gorgeous and magnificent with profound connotations.The museum is a popular tourist destination to both the Chinese and foreign tourists to Chongqing.

Located at Xuetianwan in Renmin Road, the People’s Auditorium is an ancient-style building complex built from 1951 to 1954. It is one of the landmarks of Chongqing. It was included in A History of Architecture on the Comparative Method, a classical work on architecture Published in Britain in 1987.

Located in Hangu Town, Jiulongpo District, Southwest Chongqing, 23 kilometers from the downtown, this tourism resort features natural springs. Tianci Hot Spring is a natural spring with a history of tens of thousand of years, and water comes from 3000 meters underground, with a temperature as high as 57℃. It is rich in trace elements, such as strontium, lithium, fluorine and calcium, which can boost human health.

Chongqing Geleshan Martyrs Mausoleum is the most important national defense education bases.

Located in Dazu County, Chongqing, Dazu Rock Carvings is a general tern for the cliff carving and grotto art in Dazu County. The grottoes were carved in the late Tang Dynasty. Over 50000 grotto statues and over 100000 characters of inscriptions have been well preserved. In 1999, Dazu Rock Carvings was included in the World Cultural Heritage List. Dazu Rock Carvings are spectacular and magnificent.
