Staff were really helpful and friendly and allowed us to check in early which was a big bonus. We could also store our cases on the day of departure. The bed was very comfortable and extra pillows [更多] were provided on our request. It would have been nice if bacon could have been provided at breakfast but i appreciate it is an Express Style Hotel and this breakfast is standard in the chain. The breakfast options are not ideal for someone following a gluten free diet. There was a shower with whilst not being a "power shower" was nice and warm. We didn't notice any noise at night as the hotel seems to be in a quiet position but near to all that Edinburgh has to offer. [更少]

Efficient hotel in heart of Edinburgh

We stayed 5 nights for a sight seeing holiday in Edinburgh.Hotel ideally situated for this being just behind the Royal Mile. We came by train, a 10 minute walk from the station. Staff welcoming [更多] although outside of hotel spoilt by inevitable litter and cigarette butts..Clean functional room and bathroom, very quiet. However for the price of the room would have expected more exciting hot drinks tray and some toiletries provided in the bathroom over and above a simple hand/bath soap dispenser. Breakfast was self service on trays provided in a canteen described as The Great Room - adequate but unexciting, the fresh fruit being scarcely edible and bread rolls stale.The Great Room was very busy at the weekend but staff excellent at clearing tables quickly.Fine for a budget hotel but would have expected better for the price we were paying. We have just returned from a weekend here. Most of our stay was faultless, room spotless and as described, breakfast good quality, on-site parking (get their early). Corridors decor a bit tired. Room in need of refurbishment

We stayed at the hotel for the weekend on 4th to 7th March. The first impression of the hotel was great. Lovely reception and lounge/dining areas. However, our room on the 2nd floor left a fair bit [更多] to be desired. It was tired and outdated. The furnishings, ie dressing table and bedside table looked like they had been knocked up in someone's shed. The bathroom was so small you had to squeeze between the door and the basin to get in. The paintwork on the inside of the bathroom door was shabby and the frame was falling apart and in need of replacing. With it being so small it would much better suit a walk in shower rather than a bath with shower over and this would also better suit the elderly or someone with mobility issues. The lighting in the room wasn't great. We reported one of the overhead bed lights as not working on our first day and it never got sorted. There was no light above the area where the tea/coffee is situated so even with all lights on it is very dark and the tea tray was never refilled so we got the items from the cafe/restaurant area ourselves. The radiator also needed a good lick of paint. Put it this way, our room looked nothing like the ones in the pictures. We booked this hotel as we were using our IHG rewards points and wanted a hotel with a pool. Unfortunately we didn't use it as we had booked our space but when we got there we were told there was a school swimming class taking place, which if we had been made aware of when booking we would have changed the time. It also appeared to be a unisex communal changing room with no separate cubicles. However, we did not let this spoil the enjoyment of being in Edinburgh. There is a bus stop right outside of the hotel with plenty of buses to get you in to the city within 15 minutes. The food was good, especially the breakfast and the staff were friendly and helpful.
