What a wonderful hotel!!!. All the staff were wearing masks as required in Balinese law even outside, unfortunately not all the guests were as good!!
The hotel's setting is great. It is set

behind a long sandy beach supposedly one of the best on the island. If the sea gets a bit rough for you there are pools galore to use instead. The beach is supposedly protected by an offshore reef so "small" waves but some days they seemed quite big to me, but you can’t blame the hotel for this!!
As a Spire elite member of IHG, or more correctly now a "Diamond elite" member, I was given a room upgrade at check in to a club room unfortunately without club benefits but as it was a "points stay" I can't really complain, too much.
Now on to the hotel The room, was lovely and clean with a lovely view over the garden and one of the lily ponds. Bed a comfortable king and the bathroom had both shower and separate bath, all very clean. I was provided with free mineral water every day as the tap water is not potable.
Breakfast buffet: A selection of places for breakfast, but I ate in the same place each day, why bother when the options suit you down to the ground. Restaurant had a wide selection of western and Asian options and was very good, with hot and cold options to suit all taste requirements. Even found proper bacon after a few days rather than “beef bacon” which just dos not cut it for me, would rather do without. Several options for coffee or tea and 4 or 5 choices of freshly pressed juices. Staff were wonderfully attentive and only too pleased to help you with your food choices or clearing your table to make room for your next course. A lot of things were served by staff as I guess it cut down Covid risks.
I finished with pancakes or waffles most days with fresh fruits (melon, papaya, pineapple, watermelon and bananas as choices) & yogurt some days yum! Set me up for the whole day so I did not need anything until dinner in the evening.
There were very attentive staff around the main pool if you need something to eat or drink during relaxing and they will bring it to your sun bed, or you can swim up to the pool bar to order. Pool pic attached
Evening meal: I tried a couple of different places but I think there were three or four options in total. The first night I ate in the “sunset bar” which had live music, fine if you like it but I prefer peace with my food, so did not try it again. The music was fine so if you like that thing it would be ideal for you and it overlooks the beach and as it faces west you get the sunset in the evening. The other nights I ate in the Jimbaran gardens restaurant, which offered Balinese’s and Western options and again the staff were very attentive. Food was good and hot from the kitchens which were open view (windows) so you could watch your food being cooked if you were interested.
From one of the hotel’s websites it said that the Jimbaran gardens restaurant was closed, but as it was near the end of Ramadan, and the hotel was supposedly fairly full when I arrived, it may have been opened it for that. (https://www.bali.intercontinental.com/) However, the hotel did not feel crowded at all when I was there (7 days). There, are over 400 room spread over about 4 or 5 wings and 4 - 5 floors I think and its well laid out over a largish area.
Conclusions
If you want a hotel with a good setting for a beach holiday this would be ideal. Although it is not far from the main airport (15 mins in a car) there is no real noise at all. You can sometimes see the planes going into land. The hotel is not cheap but if you are looking for quality this offers a very high standard.
Would I go back, yes in a minute, unfortunately it about 17 hours on a plane to get there. One of the main pluses of the hotel were the very friendly and helpful staff in all departments & I wish them well after all the trials they have had with Covid over the last 2.5 years. Thank you all for making my stay there special and “making me one of the family”. [更少]
