Top Rated Charleston Hotels
Holiday Inn Express & Suites Charleston-Ashley Phosphate
The room was really nice the only complaint I had was with the wheelchair accessible shower it had nothing in the bottom of the tub to keep from slipping and I slipped and fell I’m glad it wasn’t my[Mehr] husband that is in a wheelchair. Thank goodness we had the shower chair they let us use so we could sit on that. I told the staff that I fell but no one asked if I was hurt or really apologized. Other than that everything was good[Weniger]
Clean and Comfortable
Our stay was very satisfying! The room was clean, comfortable and quiet. My wife especially enjoyed the pump style shampoo, conditioner, and soap in the very clean shower! She will be looking to[Mehr] obtain that brand at home. We would greatly recommend and stay at this hotel again![Weniger]
Celiac Friendly Breakfast
I travel a lot for business, and the one thing I struggle with the most is finding celiac friendly food. This hotel has Udi's muffins and bagels every morning along with fresh fruit and yogurt. I[Mehr] have been to over 8 different hotels this year, and this is the first one that had a celiac-friendly breakfast![Weniger]
Marvelous Mt. Pleasant
Von Big daddy 78
The hotel is well centralized in Mt. Pleasant. Lots of great restaurants and beaches nearby. Be prepared for dogs everywhere. If you don’t like this it may not be a good fit. Smokers by the poolside[Mehr] is a real drag. Made the pool experience bad. Staff is attentive, especially the restaurant waitresses.[Weniger]
Non-dog lovers beware
Von Coastal NC
My wife and I come to Charleston every year, and this year we brought our 2 boys. We boarded our dog at home for the trip from coastal NC, and when we were checking-in noticed 4 dogs in the lobby[Mehr] heading to the elevators with their owners. Huh, they don't look like service dogs to us, but didn't think much about it until later that evening when the 2 yippie dogs in the room next to us started barking at anything moving in the hallway. The next morning, their owners left them unaccompanied in the room, and their barking continued. On our way out through the lobby, I stopped to ask how much it was to have a dog in the room and was told $50.00. I let the wonderful staff know about the dogs and gave them a room number and they were noticeably frustrated when another customer happened to come up and complain about dogs barking on her floor as well. The stinky icing on the cake was when we were walking out the front door of the hotel, there was fresh dog poop on the sidewalk a few feet from the main entrance. Awesome. We will come back to this location because it is perfectly located to hop across the bridge for dinner downtown.
BUT, please increase your pet pricing or only allow service animals, because even my kids thought it was pretty ridiculous how many dogs we encountered in 2 nights. And this is coming from a dog enthusiast.[Weniger]
