in Ishigaki for the holidays. Even though Ishigaki was not 'tropically warm' at this time of year, the temperatures ranged from 19-23, so we had a couple of really great pool days. The hotel was wonderful! First, the breakfast buffet is likely one of the best we have ever had. We especially loved the delicious individual juices/milks (the mango juice was absolutely amazing) and the pre-made little yogurt/oatmeal cups. Variety was great and, upon reading our comments, the staff nicely provided us our own carafe of coffee each morning. The property is AMAZING! The outdoor heated pool was small, but lovely in the slightly chilly weather, and it was fun to wade into the colder pools and then warm up in the heated pool (our children, however, are immune to cold and spent hours in the cold pool and splashpad). The staff were wonderful, friendly people who helped with anything we asked for. The room was cleaned to perfection each day and was very modern/comfortable A tiny bit small for 2 adults and 2 children for a whole week, but that was our choice. Overall, I loved the place and can only imagine how great it must be in the summer when the weather is warmer, the outdoor spas are open, etc. My only 2 recommendations: 1) keep the indoor pool open longer (especially during the winter) and 2) more casual dining choices (although dinners were excellent - it would have been nice to grab something by the pool).
