Upon arrival Island was very professional when checking in. She never at any point made me feel rushed and provided her undivided attention. She was informative and went through all the amenities
provided by hotel. Candlewood provides a very affordable convenience store, free guest laundry facilities, a 24-hour fitness center, gazebo with a barbecue grill, and a wall cabinet filled with kitchen items, games, and anything you could possibly need that you forget to bring, free of charge to use. During, my stay she always had a smile and provided friendly greetings.
Of course, I could not leave out night shifts Don, Matthew, and Jeff. These gentlemen were always ensuring I was safe and offered suggestions for local attractions and dining at the right time. Being a female on my own I felt protected and looked after. It was a great feeling.
Randy and AJ were always available should any issues arise in the room. They were eager to help and fix the problem in an expedited manner. These two are very knowledgeable about the hotel and well-versed handy men.
The hotel is older than what I would typically stay at, but I was so surprised with how clean it was. The rooms provided a mini kitchen with a full-size fridge and freezer, dishwasher, a great workspace, recliner, and was not cluttered with furniture. The water was soft, and pressure was appropriate. Sarah was my preferred and requested housekeeper. She was exceptional. She knew exactly what I needed and made sure I had it. She also left sweet notes and snacks so when I returned, I knew someone was thinking of me.
When I met the Property Manager Mandy, I knew instantly she was good people. I left knowing I had a friend in Peoria. There is something to say/special about a stay when you can become friends with the staff. She made me feel so secured and I never needed anything, it was always provided. She was pleasant and offered friendly advice. She managed the hotel well. It was always so organized, clean and any tasks completed in a prompt manner. She had impressive managerial skills and related to the staff on a personal level while maintaining her managerial role.
The staff always greeted me in the hallways and knew me by name. The staff continuously asked how I was doing and if there was anything they could do to make it better. It was evident they wanted to provide the best experience possible. I stayed here a little over two months and I cannot say anything negative. This staff is an asset to your company and presents an exceptional image of an IHG hotel. I will continue to stay at this hotel in the future and hope to see their smiling faces. [Less]
