Get to know the unique flavor of Wales when you choose one of our Cardiff
hotels, which feature views of Cardiff Bay, access to the city center, and
easy transfers to the airport. The capital of Wales - known as Caerdydd in Welsh - Cardiff sits on the
Celtic Sea. A small settlement formed centuries before the Christian era,
Cardiff grew considerably through waves of history, especially after its
docks were built in the 19th century. Today, it remains a proud center for
Welsh culture. A Norman stronghold whose foundations were laid in the 11th century,
Cardiff Castle has played a role in the city’s history for 1,000 years. Now
home to a museum and interpretive center, the castle opens a window into
the lives the families that owned, fought, and lived there. For grounding
in the Welsh spirit, the National History Museum at St. Fagans and the
National Museum and Gallery of Wales are also must-visits. It may be an ancient city, but Cardiff’s shopping is anything but. Get
started on Queen Street and St. Mary’s Street, or give the large St.
David’s Centre a try. For Victorian-flavored shopping, the High Street
Arcade will help bring the past to life, or load up on organic produce at
the Cardiff Center Market. Don’t miss Spillers Records, which claims to be
the oldest record store in the world. Suit up and head to Cardiff Arms Park, a famous destination for rugby fans.
The city has a robust cricket and soccer sporting tradition as well. The busy Cardiff Central train station and international airport will keep you well
connected to your next destination, whether you’re headed out to explore
the rest of beautiful Wales or it’s on to the European mainland. Relax and leave the details to us when you select one of our Cardiff
hotels. Our values can’t be beat, and our comfortable rooms and welcoming
staff will help you truly discover Welsh hospitality.
An overnight stay all good but must remember to order soft pillows next time!

good place to stay
A great hotel, but it does annoy me that that internet access is promised for free to ihg members, but the standard internet service is so slow, it's necessary to pay for high speed access.[Less]

Very comfortable bed
By Jules 007
A good nights sleep in a very comfortable bed. The bar was a bit dreary but the restaurant and other areas were very clean and tidy as expected for the Holiday Inn. The bedroom and bathroom were very[More] clean and sufficient bath and hand towels were available in the room.[Less]
This hotel is to be highly recommended.
All the staff are friendly, polite and helpful which is a great strength for the business.
The place was spotless and the beds firm.
1. There[More] were no hooks in the room on which to hang coats.
2. Although the hotel is easy to access from the motorway, the entrance needs better signing from the road. It's easy to have to drive right around the block to find the entrance.
The hotel is handy for supermarkets and eating places and is good value.[Less]
Standard Holiday Inn experience - exactly what I wanted at a good price.
Good hotel for visiting friends and family in the area. Near a road so ask for the quiet side, if that bothers you. A bit difficult to find from some directions so check a map before you get there.[Less]
Reliable high quality and convenient location
By Tim and Liz
We were visiting a daughter and son in law at their first new home and as the hotel is about a mile from their house it was extremely convenient. We were able to return to the hotel in a thunderstorm[More] quite late after a dinner elsewhere and it was easy to get to our room, where everything we needed was available.[Less]
