Excellent location - rooms looking tired but clean. Very poor customer service - very free people available - was charged a fee for parking although I do not drive . Impossible to rectify - no response to emails

Hotel was clean and staff friendly. No issues with check in or room.

Only negative was a typed note to say kitchen closed due to unforeseen circumstances, it would have been nice to have been told at check in rather than finding a note in the room.

Mixed feelings over 3 different stays

our 1st & 2nd visits to this hotel were fine, were given executive rooms on both occasions, lovely views over the sea, with balcony. the 3rd visit however, was very disappointing. small room at the back of the hotel, no views whatsoever. the heating wasn't working and the bed linen was very poor. we were moved on our 2nd night after complaining, to an executive room. Evidently the excuse was that the hotel was very busy but we had made our reservation months before our stay.
Also the bar area was really cold and the bar service poor. this was on the 3rd stay which was Dec 2021, so well after covid restrictions!

A good couple of days at the hotel starting with a lovely warm welcome from the receptionist (Ala) who also resolved the few concerns I had (thank you) and enabled us to fully enjoy our stay. We had decided to book a sea view room and were not disappointed. The room was spacious, clean and comfortable. All the staff we interacted with were cheerful and helpful. Breakfast was self-service (due to the current situation) but satisfactory. Location is great (sea front) and we will definitely return.

Good location, disappointing venue.

This was a 2 night mid half term break for four of us for which we paid an average of £222 per room per night, room only. This was not good value for money and the overall condition and services offered at this property are certainly not 4 star standard.
Check in / check out were both friendly, but fumbling and slow with no recognition of Spire status. Reception and lobby areas very bare and colourless. Rooms were ok, but bathrooms v small and decor and fittings worn and in need of a refurb. Sparse was the word here, with not even a laundry bag on offer.
We didn't eat in the hotel, so can't comment on that aspect, but drinks service at a not very busy time was slow and forgetful. Bizarrely, for a seafront hotel the bar closed at 10pm on a Friday and Saturday night.!

Overall, we had a good trip to Brighton, but we will stay elsewhere next time.

Very disappointed

Where do I start on arrival it’s 20 pounds to park the car I booked king executive suite Seaview as soon as we got in the room it looked very dated air conditioning doesn’t work leading out to the balcony all the windows looked filthy dirty like they haven’t bin cleaned in months the bathroom handle looked like it was hanging off the bathroom floor had paint spillages on the floor the bathroom sink had a crack all the way threw it I payed 235 pounds of my hard earned money to treat my gf to a lovely night away at holiday inn I felt like I’d bin ripped off as I alway stay in holiday inns I would not recommend anyone wasting your hard on money staying here very disappointed

Dark room, terrifying car park

Stayed for a Saturday night and can't fault the price, staff, or room. The room in particular, actually, was excellent thanks to a sea view and fantastically dark curtains that meant we weren't awoken at the crack of dawn. The hotel does benefit from having a (not cheap) car park too which in Brighton is a major plus point. That said, the car parking experience was mildly traumatic as the spaces are far too narrow for modern cars and quite a few are reserved for another building's use. This led to a number of aborted attempts to squeeze into gaps that were fractions of an inch away from taking off slices of my car before finally finding something just about workable. However, other than the cold sweat from parking everything else was just great.

Meeting Stay

I appreciate the hotel is in need of refurbishment, but it is clear given the corridors and bedrooms update thus far that this is in progress.
I found the staff to be very attentive and anticipated my needs at front desk and in the restaurant.
The meeting rooms were very tired and are in need of refurbishment also.
