Bartender on Saturday night was very friendly and nice. Jay at front desk was very professional and very nice. Well-trained staff overall.
Would love to come back and stay.

What happened to guest satisfaction?

So many things I could say but I will just summarize. I checked in for a one night stay first time staying at an IHG property, I’ve booked many rooms for my contractors at several IHG properties but never experienced a stay myself. I called the front desk at 530 am the day of check in to ask if they could note I will be checking in before 11am if anything is ready if not I will wait, the woman responded with we have your room type ready I will
Pre assign it for you. Great. Get to check in and they say there are no rooms available which I would completely understand if I wasn’t told 6 hours prior by a front desk staff something was vacant ready. Front desk agent just goes back and forth with me and a gentleman named Ryan I’m presuming to be the front desk manager who was hearing the entire conversation steps in and accommodates by changing my room type but in the process what feels like an interrogation “do you remember the name of who you spoke to, without hearing the exact conversation I can’t really say much, what was the exact time” even though he was right there hearing the entire conversation. I showed him the phone call I made to the property with the time stamp then he proceeds to say that’s not necessary. Seemed like a good guy, but what’s with interrogation when I’m just trying to get into a room with all of my luggage? After checking into the room and beginning to change a housekeeper walks in unannounced and sees me standing there changing my clothes and proceeds to keep her head in the door and do what I can only presume as playing it off by saying “is everything ok with the room” umm yes but now seeing how a housekeeper tried coming in makes me believe the room was never inspected, why else would a housekeeper be coming in a “vacant ready” but now occupied room? I immediately call the front desk and explain what happened and I soon get a phone call back from Ryan who once again, his way of communicating feels like an interragation. I told him what happened and his responses were “did she knock, did she fully come in the room, do you know her name” like come on Ryan I just told you everything that happened this is the part where you try to make it right. He apooogized and said he would credit 3000 points to my account. As a first time guest at a IHG property, what do I care for 3000 points when this is the first impression? What about a portion of my rate reimbursed or dinner on them for the embarrassment and inconvenience. No “guest satisfaction” was rendered. Again, nice guy but maybe could freshen up on some guest experience training. For all I know I stayed in a room that was never inspected,
Walked in on while changing and given false information before check in so I had to settle for a lesser room at the same price. I will not send any more of my contractors to this location after having this experience.

Fantastic Service, thank you Holiday Inn Team!

Just wanted to convey my sincere thanks to the entire Holiday Inn staff at the 9901 S La Cienega Boulevard, Los Angeles property! Everybody went above and beyond to make my 2-day stay so nice. The front desk staff (specifically "Sandy" & "Elena") were great to me upon a late check-in do to delays for my flight from the east coast. They had me ready to go in just a few mins...and were so helpful directing me to a supermarket to pick-up a few items before retiring to a super-comfortable room. They were also able to square me a away with a late checkout. Also wanted to say thanks for keeping the fitness room clean and ready to go. I exercise quite a bit, so I appreciate IHG efforts to ensure customers have unfettered access to a fitness room. Everything worked great...with the exception of the elliptical trainer, needs to be serviced for a an electrical problem.
Bottom line: Thanks for all you do. I come to LA once per year to see my doctor and visit with family...and your team always makes this trip so enjoyable. Thanks for the great
customer service!

Step up your game!

Booked as a short layover with modest expectations. Started off with the shuttle taking 75 min for pick up and another 30 in transit. Got room and a dirty food tray was on table near elevator. Hallways need an uplift, very dingy. Room was clean, but dated. Woke up and found erroneous parking charge on room, but front desk handled it quickly. The real kicker is after 30 min no shuttle, front desk ordered cabs. First one took 5 min, after 30 additional min we found alternative transportation. Thus, what I can say is advertsedI shuttle is not dependable and I canceled reservation on return. Do not stay here, maybe if they lose more business then they will have more shuttle buses. Also did not recognize status.

Room was disappointing

I was greeted by all staff members I came in contact, but unfortunately my room was not at the level I’m used to. Upon my arrival, I found a used washcloth at the top of my shower curtain. Also, the tub stopper was broken and wouldn’t stay up, so the water filled the tub while I showered.

Overall, Good Experience

I spent two relaxing nights at this location. It was clean and the staff was friendly and helpful. It is an older building with plenty of wear and tear (but clean!).The walls are thin and I could hear hallway noise. The airport shuttle is old and loud. Apparently, only one is running even though there should be several. I had to wait for over a half an hour upon arrival for the shuttle after midnight. Otherwise, it was a good experience.

A hit, a strike and a miss

This is a mixed review. My initial impression of the property was driven by the EXCELLENT service at check-in by the front desk agent - Yumuna. I have stayed at several IHG properties in LA. But, this was my 1st stay at this property, after an airline cancellation at LAX. Initially, I only planned to stay 1 night. But, Yumuna's positive impression was the motivating factor for adding a 2nd night. Yumuna was the "hit". Sadly, a negative, extremely rude interaction with an under-trained grave-yard shift desk agent - Kevin - resulted in a 180 experience. Subsequently, I was advised that he had only been in the position for approx. 2 weeks. The inexperience is excusable, the rudeness is not. Nor was his blatant untruth of telling me at 3:30 a.m. that there was no one else that I could speak to, when in actuality there was a supervisor on break. Kevin was the "strike". I was on the edge of checking out, with the intent of never returning. Rather than staying for a planned 3rd night. Fortuitously, I spoke to the supervisor who had been on break, who apologized and rectified the immediate matter. However, the "miss"" occurred when I spoke to the Rooms Director - David -who conveyed the clear impression that he was disinterested in my negative experience and that I was wasting his time, by among other things keeping him from meeting with his staff and having dinner with his family. Not sure how he could have been so inconvenienced in his 10 minute conversation with me, before I politely excused myself. The interaction with him was pointless.

The Sunday buffet was grossly over-priced at $21, given the selection and quality. But, the dining staff was attentive and efficient. I found other staff to be courteous and accommodating. The temperature in LA was at record levels. But there was no air-conditioning in the shuttle van. The room was clean. But, greater attention could be given to the common areas, such as the elevators. Most of the negatives would appear to be management related. This property has potential, which is why I would recommend it, notwithstanding my negative experience. The location is a pro and a con. It is an urban area. So, you will see homeless people.

The hotel was very clean, the staff was very accommodating. Free shuttle service to airport was very helpful. The bed was very comfortable. The price was very reasonable. I would stay again the next time I’m in LA
