Sick Staff Members

I was pleased upon arrival to find the hotel visually appealing. I even made a comment that during non-COVID times, I would be happy to return to this hotel and enjoy ALL of the amenities the hotel has to offer. But my attitude quickly changed when later that evening as I was returning from dinner, I noticed the hotel check in clerk working from 6pm-8pm was actively coughing and sick. She was hacking up a lung at the front desk, and I had to use the business area to print emails for work. The whole situation made me feel uncomfortable and I am praying I don't get whatever cold she may have or COVID if that's what she has. During this time, any employee showing signs of sickness should NOT be working, especially with the public. To make matters worse, her colleague asked her, "you are coming in tomorrow though, right?" YIKES!

Amazing Property! Clean, updated, and great staff!

We had two Indian wedding event days at the Holiday Inn. We had our events in the Horizon Ballroom and Outdoor Lawn Space and it was amazing! Our guests loved having both the indoor and outdoor space. We also had a room block at the Holiday Inn facilitated by Jenn and Ricardo and most of our guests stayed on site. Those that did really enjoyed the amenities and various areas they could sit throughout the property to chat with family and friends. From day 1, Jenn and Ricardo were phenomenal. Initially we had no wedding coordinator and just planned the event ourselves. As we got closer to the event, we hired a coordinator and worked out all the details with Jenn and Ricardo. They were very accommodating in handing out our welcome bags to our room block guests and all the Holiday Inn staff had a great personality. They went out of their way to ensure we had a stress free event and were always prompt with email and phone communication. The staff that were helping with the event were great and they did a great job refreshing the areas during the event. The layout of the hotel was convenient for our guests and the rooms were spacious and clean. Everyone could not believe how kind and positive Jenn was at all times. Honestly, her great communication and kind nature made me just want to have my wedding at this site as well, but unfortunately it was too late for that. We had a 5 star experience and would highly recommend for both the hotel stay and venue space!

The 32-Minute Stay- Redux

This is the second time I am posting this review. The first was never posted on the webpage. Hopefully, this time will be different and some unsuspecting guest might be helped.

My wife and I checked in to the property on January 20, around 5:30 pm. After entering the room, we noticed the closet door was stained and the mirror streaked. We quickly unpacked and I sat at the desk to look online at the schedule for the conference that had brought us to town. Almost immediately I detected movement between my computer and my hands. A cockroach was strolling along the desk top, apparently unconcerned at my presence. It paused behind my computer, which allowed me to dispatch it.

Ok, even the cleanest properties might be subject to the occasional 6-legged intruder. Less than two minutes later, I spied a second roach walking slowly up the wall next to the window. It swiftly met the fate of its roommate. We quickly repacked (making sure there were no stowaways) and headed to the front desk.

The manager on duty expressed surprise and claimed nothing like this had ever happened before. He then asked if I was certain the dead insects were cockroaches. I assured him there was no possibility of mistaken identity. He asked if we'd like a different room, and I said, "Sure, as long as it's in a different hotel". As we walked out the door, the timestamp on the receipt read 6:02, Thirty-two minutes after check-in.

I'm an Aspire member, with over 500,000 points. I've stayed at IHG properties across the country, both large and small hotels. This is the first, and I hope last time something like this will happen.

The lack of cleanliness was disappointing. More worrisome was the apparent lack of concern on the part of the staff on duty. Not only were they more concerned with my ability to accurately identify roaches than the fact that I was forced to kill two within a five-minute span, the review never made its way onto the website, suggesting that they are more concerned with positive sounding reviews than honest ones.

Excellent use of my IHG points

Stayed for one night to visit local family before heading to next destination. Arrival was very good - fresh lobby, warm greeting and easy check in. Room was large, yet the dark walls were a bit depressing - need to be lightened. Quiet and comfortable sleep - thank you for the black out curtains. Coffee in room was hot and tasty and welcome! Check out was easy and thanks for the banana for the road!

Front Desk needs better communiction with housekeeping

We stayed at this hotel October 25 -27. The check in process when very smooth until we were given our room key. We went up to our room to find the door was ajar and that guests and their luggage were in the room....occupied #1. We then went back to the front desk to tell them what happened and they were very sorry and gave us two drink tickets for the bar. Again, we were given a new room. Went up to that room and found that it was occupied also...occupied #2. TV was on and guests in room. Went back to the front desk to tell them it happened again. They apologized again but wouldn't do anything about the inconvenience. We asked them for two more drink tickets and the front desk clerk said no she couldn't do it. She didn't offer anything else to make it right. My husband and I do a lot of traveling and we have never had this experience. When it was time to give us our third room, I asked the front desk clerk to come with us this time. All was good, but yet nothing for the inconvenience. That evening we met our friends at the bar and decided to sit outside. There were signs in and outside of the hotel where we were sitting saying that it was 100% smoke free hotel, yet there was a table of men smoking cigars. Their waitress did nothing about it. We ended up finishing our drinks quite quickly and went up to our rooms.
Everything else about the hotel was ok. .
