Roaches

Found several cockroaches in our room. It was our last night stay there. Got up at night to use the restroom, found a cockroach in the bathroom. Found another near the kitchen. Was late at night and had a long drive the next day back home. Could not get a good nights sleep as a result of my findings. Had to go through all of our belongings to make sure we didn’t bring any home with us. Brought it up to staff first thing in the morning. Offered 0 compensation or partial refund. We visit the area often and will not be returning. It appears I’m not the only one who has experienced this problem. Read others reviews.

Nice resort, would recommend

We stayed for 6 nights at this Holiday Inn Club Vacations in North Scottsdale, and were pleased with the resort.

- Very generously-sized rooms, which were the approximate size of a condo. We stayed in a 2-bedroom unit and overall the accommodations were excellent. Finding hotels that offer multiple bedrooms in a single unit is always a challenge, and this is one of the best ones we have found. The beds were comfortable, the room was clean, and the kitchen was large and had all the necessary implements. The only drawbacks, and they were fairly significant, are the walls are paper-thin so you could hear your neighbor clearly, which isn't ideal when they and their kids are awake and talking at 4am! And, the AC was really noisy as well.
- The multiple pools were nice, the pool decks were spotless and the multiple seating options were excellent. Never had an issue finding chairs for the family. It would be better to have towels down at the pool that you can throw in a hamper when you're done, rather than carry them to/from your unit and have to wash them yourself.
- We had a family happy hour at the on-site restaurant and the appetizers were good (not great), but reasonably priced. The outdoor seating area is wonderful, both during the day with shaded areas, and at night with a fireplace..
- I thought the location would be far from most attractions we wanted to see, but if you have a car you can get to most places in the Phoenix metro area in 20-25 minutes at most. Turned out the location is excellent....close enough to everything, while still offering the quiet of a still developing area.
- My biggest complaint about the place is the timeshare sales pitch that starts at check-in, and continued with 2 follow-up calls after that. I made it clear I had no interest nor any intention to spend 90 minutes of my vacation listening to a sales pitch, even with financial incentives to do so, but they had a hard time taking no for an answer, which was aggravating.

Overall, I would recommend this resort and would definitely stay there again, only this time with earplugs while sleeping.

New revised review as I had written before about paying for but not being able to cancel or show up for my reservation and not being credited any points.
Well, Thank You, whoever took care of that problem! We do appreciate it and will definitely be booking with IHG again but only "refundable" reservations.
Perhaps the staff could have emailed or called me to let me know that you ended up crediting me my points after we were told they wouldn't/couldn't.

Very disappointed that I had made reservation here for 12/23-12-26/2019 as a family Christmas gathering. We have stayed before and thought it would be the perfect place. Unffortunately it was the first time I made a "non-cancellable" reservation. Don't know why, I just did. Found out that the living area would not be able to accommodate 20 people comfortably so, I did call and see if I could possibly cancel way in advance. They said no. So, I figured at least I would still get my points. I paid almost $900.00 never used the room so, never made a mess nor used any water or electricity. I saw that they did not credit me the points on my IHG account so I called and asked "Why not?" They said because I didn't show up. Now, does that make any sense to any other consumer who is a repeat customer? I would still recommend the resort but will be telling my story.
The only other issue I have with this place is that check in is later than most hotels and check out is also---I mean 10AM is pretty early, never heard of that before and we stay at a lot of hotels & resorts throughout the year all over the country.
