I stayed at this property in November on a business trip and returned in August to take advantage of the Ottawa Tourism Promotion. Therefore one could say that I'm a fan of this property due to the [More] fact that its only year old, and the location, and the price!! The only difference is there is a pandemic going on now which means there's new guidelines. They did a great job with check in - I felt totally safe and comfortable. However it was not communicated to us that there would be no house-keeping during our stay (ie the garbage wouldn't be emptied, the bed would not be made after our first night, the room would not be tidied etc). It makes total sense however I wish I would have known. I also wish there was signage re; how many people could go into the elevators or decals in the elevator where you could stand. [Less]

We cannot say enough wonderful things about the agent who helped us at the front desk; Paul Reid. As soon as we walked in, Paul made us feel welcome. We were travelling from MB and after a bit of [More] vehicle trouble, we were arriving a bit late and very stressed and tired. We had called ahead to order supper from the restaurant and asked them to leave it at the front desk for us as we weren't sure we would get to the hotel before they closed. Not only was Paul kind enough to have supper put in our room, he anticipated our need for wineglasses when he saw us carrying a bottle of wine ,and made sure we had some before heading up to the room. My husband went down later to get something from our vehicle, and was telling Paul how we have to change a tire in the morning but didn't have the correct tools, so Paul left his personal tools for us to use! He went so above and beyond any expectations we had. If we are ever in the area again, the Holiday Inn Ottawa Kanata will be our hotel of choice and we hope we see Paul again! And the room was comfortable, clean and just what we needed for a good nights sleep. [Less]

Staff were great took the bus which is 2 minutes outside the hotel, to hockey game and took bus back from game, were back in hotel in 10 minutes after game. If you are from the GTA you can use your [More] presto card on the bus which was very conveniant and easy, highly recommend this hotel. [Less]

I came to Ottawa for a 4-day getaway, and this hotel was the best price and location for my holiday. Check-in was quick and easy, and I got to meet Nicole, with whom I had spoken on the phone the [More] week before. She recognized me from my voice, and that was just the beginning of what proved to be the best hospitality I’ve ever encountered. The room was exquisite. Clean, fully equipped for my tech needs, comfortable beyond compare. The restaurant (Gibson’s on Queen) serves a fantastic breakfast with very affordable pricing for the meals provided. Wifi is free, fast, and never faltered. After a rough beginning to my stay (car trouble), Helen and Peter, Nicole, Michael, and Melanie went above and beyond to make sure I got the service I needed vis-a-vis my car. But it was their compassion and humanity, the outreach they showed me throughout that made my stay that much better. They all made me feel not just welcome, but cared for. The level of service they showed me for 4 days was top notch, and just added to the overall quality of the hotel itself. I highly recommend staying here. I know I will return. I felt like I was leaving friends when I hugged them goodbye. They didn’t have to, but they truly did go the extra mile for a traveler far from home, and alone in a new city.
