Such a warm greeting including a pleasant smile made us instantly feel welcomed on the first floor reception area .. during check-in everything was fully explained complete with all required[More] information about the hotel complex .. our 9th floor room was extremely comfortable with excellent views .. car park was also conveniently right next door which was hassle free .. eating areas only a few paces away giving a wide range of eating options .. with a very short walk you’ll find that instantly you are in the middle of the city’s main Rundle Street Mall .. shopping .. shopping .. shopping if you desire .. alternatively trams , bus and train travel is once again within minimal walking distance otherwise in another direction there’s the magnificent Casino or Adelaide’s Main Football arena complex .. we thoroughly enjoyed our stay as it included such a large selection of different activities that we could explore over the 2 days .. that’s why the key factor is Location .. Location .. Location while experiencing top level comfort at the magnificent hotel .. > we will be back !! - RAY - (:-)[Less]
Great stay at Holiday Inn Express Adelaide
Extremely helpful and courteous staff. It is a pleasure to connect with them.
I really appreciated the attention to detail in their reviewing my comments on my previous stay, and providing the fresh[More] water.
Breakfast is always nutritious and an excellent way to start a busy day of meetings.
The hotel overall is extremely clean and comfortable, and so convenient to CBD.
Although an "Express", it is up there with Holiday Inn in Paris!
Thank you for your hospitality[Less]
very hard to book and change booking date by phone, 18 min to book and even longer to change date. no confimation email from both calls.Valet parking was a total mess with cars lined up out to the[More] street(this went on for hours that day).Once checked in all was fine , room was great and food perfect.[Less]
Love staying here
I always stayed at this hotel when I travel to Adelaide. So good to be back and I felt that the hotel has put in great efforts to ensure that it is a COVID safe stay standard. Service is always good,[More] friendly staff. Lunch served at the hotel is always great. I didn't have a chance to visit Shiki this round. will do so next time. Oh, I love the pillow menu very much.[Less]
An excellent hotel at reasonable rates and good location
My four nights stay at Intercontinental Adelaide was excellent. The hotel staff were very helpful and friendly. The hotel location is also very convenient, close to the Adelaide Convention Centre,[More] Adelaide Railaway Sation, restaurants and shopping centres.[Less]
Great hotel in great location.
Lots of road works going on around the hotel making initial access to the hotel difficult but valet parking staff member was excellent and although having reception staff on the 10th floor was a bit[More] confusing I’m sure all these things will be worked out in time. The room was comfortable and clean with great views. Apart from a damaged curtain the room was very good.hopefully the reception area will be moved to the ground floor because the reception area on the 10th floor is way too small for morning check out and the area becomes crowded and blocks access to the elevators.[Less]
The initial entrance to the hotel seems a little odd where instead of the concierge desk facing the main street entrance, it is faced to the side street entrance. The main lobby and “hub” of the[More] Crowne is located on level 10 and you check in straight ahead from the elevators.
A slight design issue appears that no matter how well the hotel writes signs on a wall, patrons leaving the pool area and wanting to return to their room will inadvertently walk straight in front of the bar and dining area rather than the walkway at the back. Perhaps doors/entry points could be altered to stop someone dripping their bathers on you while you wait to order a drink. Staff were always quick to clean and resolve the matters but it seems somewhat redundant. At times it is difficult to get a seat at the bar area. A nice touch having the table and recharge points slightly separated from the bar seating areas as well for families/children to sit.
Check in process was smooth and painless. The conversation with the staff member wasn’t great and I ended up giving up as it seemed a little one sided and generic. This is the first impression of the hotel and my excitement was met with a tired feel. There was no confirmation of hotel specifics outside of bond pre-payment and my room number. There was also no way in the booking process to opt in for a corner room for what online indicates, appeared to offer better views. Different views are mentioned online, but outside of paying for the different room tiers, it’s somewhat of a lottery as to what quality you get.
The room: King Premium with Hills views.
Spacious and a nice sleek décor. Bedding was premium and very comfortable. I was not aware of a pillow menu and would’ve changed the pillows to something better had I known. Nice touches such as Chromecast streaming ability from a smart device, as well as stable consistent Wi-Fi. The quality of room felt nice and to the eye is pleasing as expected for a new hotel. That being said, for the price that you pay, I was expecting a little bit more attention to smaller details.
A great view of the hills with the floor to ceiling windows but they were dirty inside and out which obstructs the view a little. I appreciate it’s hard to always have the windows spotless on the outside, but the inside should be standard. The two sets of curtains, only the heavier outers have a rod to help open and close while the thinner decorative one is more difficult to pull along without feeling like it’ll tear as you pull it along.
The door to the room slams shut which if you are expecting a soft close like anywhere else, can startle you. This was evident throughout the stay where doors would slam and rattle the room at all hours.
There is a huge gap below the bathroom door and the tiles. If you are staying with someone, it’d be nice to have bathroom noise blocked out a little better. The toilet roll holder could be further forward and more accessible as well.
General experience was pleasant. A good location for where we wanted to visit and modern touches. However, I’ll be trying other locations before considering coming back here.[Less]
Fantastic staff and location
This is a lovely hotel which is new, modern and impeccably clean.
Staff are extremely friendly, welcoming and helpful.
Slight hiccup during our stay - we ordered 2 beers via room service and after[More] waiting over 50minutes had to call and cancel as it had taken so long and we needed to leave.
The pillows are far too soft meaning our first nights sleep was average however this was promptly solved by staff arranging memory foam pillows in our room for the next night which was perfect.
Overall we loved our stay and would happily stay again.[Less]
