Overall quality is good and preferred to stay again next visit[Less]
I didn't like not having drawers or cupboards in the bedroom and toiletries were lacking .
The staff on reception were vey helpful with directions.
Beds were very comfortable and room clean,
Good[More] value for money
Within easy walk to the centre of bath[Less]
Our stay kicked off on a very pleasing note as we were able to check in at 12:45. We had arrived in Bath early as we had a wedding to attend to (starting at 2:30) and when we arrived we were told[More] that our room wasn't ready yet but the reception staff offered to give housekeeping a ring and see when it would be ready. We mentioned that we actually had a wedding to attend to and they immediately looked for another room which had already been turned over and put us in there. This made our stay so much easier and more relaxing so a huge thank you for that.
A couple of key points for me
- we thought breakfast choices were slightly limited. It was just grapefruit in the fruit selection. A fruit cocktail might have been nice. There were only croissants available and no pain au chocolats and my husband was very disappointed that there was no bacon on offer in addition to the sausages.
- it was a little pricey for essential a bed and breakfast service especially when you have to pay extra for the car park on top. Although the car park fee wasn't extortionate it would have been good if that could have been included in the price. (not even complimentary soaps in the bathroom which always cheer me up).
Other than that it was exactly what we needed, clean, plenty of food, a good location and an on-site car park was an absolute god send.
lovely hotel, just unfortunate my room near a lift and a little noisy then.[Less]
We stayed here with friends for three nights, and enjoyed our stay. We were made to feel at ease. I was not recognised as being a IHG Rewards Club Member, when booking in! A small oversight I am[More] sure! Both our rooms were together on the same floor. Breakfast was good if just the same for the stay. Staff overall were very good. In fact I would to thank the house keeper who retrieved a hearing aid that was left in my room. I only noticed this 20 mins into the journey home, phoned reception who informed house keeping,,we returned and I was reunited with the ear piece. Thank you.[Less]
Great base for Welsh Adventure
Lovely hotel, very close to the M4, allowed us the opportunity to drive around Newport, Cardiff and Merthyr Tydfill. I will definitely be booking here again soon. Breakfast buffet is a little limited[More] though.[Less]
A number of recent reviews have commented about the room being too hot. I'd forgotten this when I wrote my recent review (our room was initially too hot also). However I quickly realised that the[More] wall thermostat in our room was not connected to the wall heater whose own thermostat control worked perfectly and quckly allowed the room temparature to be set to a more comfortable level although if I remember correctly the wall heater's control was not clearly visible unless you were standing right next to it. Assuming other rooms are the same as ours, the no longer functioning wall thermostats should be removed and the room information printouts should mention the wall heater's own adjustment control so as not to confuse future guests.[Less]
