Excellent stay in a great room, very comfortable and very pleasant guest experience. Slightly disappointed by the choice of breakfast food and unfortunately couldn't get a WIFI signal in the bedroom,[More] otherwise I would recommend.[Less]
great stay had by all
By kaz d
First class hotel, fabulous value. Very welcoming and helpful staff at reception. Hotel was spotless and everything about the hotel was five star.
From reception to night staff everyone was without[More] exception extremely friendly and helpful. We had a great all round stay and will definitely be back.[Less]
Great staff and rooms very clean
This hotel is very usefully located close to the M6 and junctions of the M61, M65 and M55. This means that if you have business in Manchester or the surrounding areas of Walton Summit, you can get[More] there very easily. The motorway connections are in easy reach of Blackpool, the Ribble and even the lake district without the obvious prices.[Less]
Good stay as always
This hotel is always good. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. Breakfast is substantial and well cooked. The staff are polite and very friendly. The location is excellent for the Lowry Theatre[More] and Old Trafford.[Less]
Service that was above and beyond
Stayed here for a hen party weekend and the stay couldn't have been nicer. The staff were very accommodating, letting us use a conference room for arts and crafts and generally just being very[More] helpful. I stayed an extra night after the hen and my husband joined me which was easy to organise at short notice. We struggled to find somewhere for dinner that was open after a restaurant booking error and the lovely staff ended up opening the kitchen for us and cooking us pizzas which was above and beyond what they could have done and we felt very looked after. This was our first experience staying at a Holiday Inn and we will be booking again. I liked the option to not have room service each day. I think the prices were reasonable for the cleanliness and comfort of the room, and the breakfast was also delicious. However it was so good to know that in a crisis or change of plans the staff were there for us and turned the situation round for us.[Less]
A visit to The Lowry
We visited Manchester to see an exhibition at The Lowry and on arrival at our hotel we were greeted by a very helpful and friendly receptionist who was called Claire. She gave us a lot of information[More] about the area and the arrival of the Marco Pierre White restaurant opening that night but mainly sorted out my credit card as I could not remember my pin. I cannot thank her enough as she made the process of checking in a breeze. We ate lunch in the bar a salad and soup but that took a long time to come but it was worth the wait. We had a very modern room and it was all so new and clean it was a real pleasure to stay there. The breakfast was well worth the money and again the staff couldn't be more helpful. I am sorry I didn't get the servers name but she was tall and blonde. We had so much choice of food I wanted to stay all morning and it was not too busy either even at 09.30. I would definitely recommend staying at this hotel as it is in a lovely area right next door to the BBC and ITV and surrounded by water. The tram into Manchester city takes about 20 mins and that costs £5 per adult for a days usage which we thought was fair. It was a relaxing and quiet hotel so I would stay there next time I visit Manchester.[Less]
Great staff. Rubbish breakfast
By samurai 1961
Front desk staff are really good, rooms are also more than adequate for a business stay.
Breakfast is a huge let down though. No bacon and scrambled eggs are disgusting, the staff keep stirring it as[More] they walk past, no idea know why!
The big plus for me is the use of the on site gym, would probably find somewhere less expensive if they did not have it.[Less]
First class hotel. Pity about the directions!
Our first impressions were rather clouded by getting lost after leaving the M6. It would have been easier if we were told the exact number of exits from A580. Then having found the correct exit, the[More] directions said the hotel is on the left, whereas, it is on the right, and because of the thick trees, cannot be seen until one is almost past, and then one has to go round the roundabout and double back to access. Thereafter, everything was a good experience.[Less]
comfortable bed and nice breakfast
Nice hotel room, plenty choice on breakfast and fresh drink.[Less]
