I would like to explain to you how concerned we were after booking you as our venue. We had heard a few horror stories, and when our friends and family started calling up to book rooms to be told “we[More] don’t have a wedding on this date” we were very concerned. We then had the issue of being called “bride and groom” almost every time we spoke to someone, which I must say is a little frustrating after you have made it clear you are, in fact 2 brides.
It wasn’t until our “final details” meeting when we met Karen, that we started to realise we were in safe hands. So, at this point I would like to take the opportunity to thank Karen for all her support and hard work in making our day absolutely perfect. The holiday inn are very lucky to have such a professional and friendly lady on the team.
We encountered so many polite and friendly staff on our day, many that I actually noted their name, because without them and their hard work our day wouldn’t have been as perfect as it was.
Eva was so kind and accommodating, setting up the tables on the morning asking me if I was happy, as well as a super friendly and polite gentleman (Radu? I didn’t note his name so apologies!) The team that served our Afternoon tea were so friendly and smiley, they were a joy to have around. Tia in particular, very professional and super polite and friendly. I also noted Alex and Kerris who were lovely too! Samara was very helpful with regards to the initial set up and liaising closely with us so a special mention there too,
Overall, The Holiday inn are very lucky to have such a great team.[Less]
I first booked the hotel and then read reviews. I was a bit wary after reading negative reviews and did begin to worry. However,
- The room was clean and comfortable.
- Breakfast had lots of[More] options. Yes the hot food wasn’t piping, but it was warm and perfectly tasty.
-The swimming pool area was not grotty like some of the reviews were suggesting. It was perfectly acceptable.
-The staff at breakfast and the cleaners we came a cross were very friendly. The reception staff at check in wasn’t so nice, but maybe he just had a bad day or was at the end of a long shift. I’ve worked customer service roles I know it’s not possible to be happy and cheery all the time, but a nice greeting would have been appreciated.
My only slightly negative points are; on the website I’d says breakfast finishes at 9, but people were turning up for breakfast at 9 and were being let in. It wasn’t the end of the world we went to the restaurant at a time when it wasn’t busy and could enjoy ourselves. A lot of the later people had to wait until a table became available. It just would have been nice to have a lie in.
Secondly the health centre is due to close at 9 on Saturdays. My husband and a couple of other guests were there from 8 when the adults only hour starts, and around 8.25 the staff had turned of all the lights. So my husband didn’t have a choice but to leave, which was pretty disappointing.[Less]
Could not have found better service in any departmenr
By Rob 952
Certainly glad I chose this hotel for my visit to Goodwood races my partner and I could not believe we would receive the attention we received at this hotel.
We wish to thank all the staff for[More] making this a stay to remember .
So thanks and all the best from robert and Maureen

Comfortable bed and clean rooms
By Grumpy git
We visit Hampshire regularly as we have family there, so have stayed in the Holiday Inn at Eastleigh several times. Rooms are always clean and beds are comfortable and the staff are always friendly[More] and welcoming. The food is okay but we tend to eat elsewhere. Good range for breakfast but we eat at Waitrose as it’s half the price. The drinks in the evenings are always quite pricey - £10 for a glass of wine!! We stayed for 2 nights last weekend - Thursday 4th and Sunday 7th and couldn’t believe that a charge is made now for parking in the hotel car park - £5 per night!!!! Don’t think this is going to be popular!!![Less]
Ideal pre cruise stay and car parking package
As the Southampton Boat show was on, this was an ideal alternative to the Holiday Inn in Southampton that we usually use before a cruise and whose car park was taken over the event.
Very easy to get[More] from the Hotel to the ship and back again via the allocated taxi that was part of the package.[Less]
This should have been a 6* review!
Before we arrived here on Monday 12th July 2021 we looked at the online reviews and had some concerns so emailed the hotel with requests and some clarification. They replied with in a couple of hours[More] with answers which put our mind at ease.
From the moment we arrived until we left 5 days later we could not find any fault with this hotel. They allocated us a quiet room on the top floor so we had good nights sleep. The breakfast was great, just as we always remembered from previous Holiday Inn Expresses. Plenty of food but all individually wrapped to comply with Covid restrictions - even the individual slices of bread were separately wrapped!
The staff could not have more helpful and ever so friendly. Definitely a hotel we will want to return to.[Less]
very comfortable stay
clean hotel very comfy beds good choice of pillows just too short staffed at breakfast we were there at 8.30 and tables had a few dirty plates we had to wait of it being cleared but would not stop us[More] staying again....
will def go back[Less]
Spacious Family room and Friendly staff
A great stay at Holiday Inn Express. Spacious family room, comfortable bed. Great staff. The only slight disappointment was the breakfast. We were quite late down - about 1/2 hour before closing, but[More] there were no croissants left and the cooked breakfast had NO BACON. I'm not sure if had run out or just wasn't on the menu, but if not on the menu I really think it should be. Surely bacon is the main ingredient of an English breakfast?[Less]
