we had a good nights sleep, bed was comfortable, room was clean and the front desk staff was very nice upon check in.
would definitely stay there again.
tip: we found this thai restaurant, thai arawan, it's fantastic. don't be put off upon entering, it's not much to look at, nor the surroundings, but the food was excellent, one of the best thai meals we ever had in the US!!!!! would someday travel back to garden city just for the food!!!

The staff treated me very well. Breakfast was very good. I was able to relax in my room without noise from outside bothering me. A/C worked well, I love my room cold. I needed the number to a local restaurant and was provided the number without any problems.

I was greeted with a smile and treated throughout my stay with respect. Thank you so much.

Good stay, horrible breakfast

Front desk staff is amazing and always cheerful, manager is very attentive to check on your stay, housekeeping does a terrific job everyday, I've been here about 11 days so far total and it has been like this consistently, what has also been consistent is the lousy breakfast that is always burnt. I've included a picture of the omelet that is the least burnt of the batch that day. The scrambled eggs are usually so overcooked they have a sandy texture. Sometimes even the meat is burnt.

Overall this is a good HIE with nice clean rooms and most of the comforts you expect out of a Holiday Inn Express.

We always look for a Holiday Inn Express location whenever we travel. The consistency of service and facilities is amazingly consistent. We've stayed in Holiday Inn Express locations from the beaches of South Carolina to the Deep South to the Great Plains and the Far West. We don't like surprises, and Holiday Inn Express always delivers..

Nice Modern Hotel

This is a nice modern HIE. Easy to get to location. Breakfast menu and quality was just ok. Slow internet.
Price was higher than expected for an HIE but was probably due to other activities in the area.

Bugs, Torn Wallpaper and No Hot Breakfast Items

Check in went as expected. The room was nice until I looked a little closer. The wallpaper over the light fixture in the bathroom had a large rip in it and was just hanging unceremoniously down to the light fixture. I counted at least two bugs crawl out of the sink drain while I was getting ready in the morning. More may have been staying in my room unbeknownst to me as well.

When I went down for breakfast, there was nothing left in the hot breakfast container (where the eggs, bacon, sausage, etc.) are kept. All containers were empty and several guests (not just me) were left to make do with other options. I could not find anyone in the little pantry room behind the breakfast area and no one was at the desk either. I finally saw two housekeepers walking down the hall and notified them. They left and came back with the hostess of the breakfast area. She couldn't have been far away as it didn't take them long to find her, so I'm not sure what kept her from keeping the breakfast selections stocked.

Average Stay

I gave a rating of 3 stars for two reasons. 1) Internet strength was below average. It consistently bounced between 1 & 3 bars. My suggestion is to add more or better routers. Because my work is data intensive, I rely on quality internet. Unfortunately this was not the case. 2) Even though it is now a non-smoking hotel, I could still smell stale cigarette smoke in my room. I don't know how to completely remove the smell, save gutting the room and starting over.
I will probably stay at another hotel next time that I am in town, even though I'm a Platinum Member.

Our wireless performance is currently being tested to insure we are provided with all correct filters. We do value you as a platinum member and are working hard to provide better internet access.
