Great staff, nice room

Great first impression upon checking in. Chap on the front desk in the evenings was genuinely excellent throughout our stay. Room was clean and comfortable. Bathroom facilities were again clean and up to date. Bed was a touch on the soft side for my taste but still slept fairly well throughout. Great location having the use of the Virgin active health club next door as well as an ASDA supermarket opposite. Really nothing to complain about and would definitely stay again when in Norwich on business.

No airconditioning / poor invoicing

... staff at the check-out don't know how to operate the system - information printout instead of an invoice; charged in the wrong currency ... FRIENDLY BUT INCOMPETENT

I am deeply sorry for the issues experienced with our air conditioning, we have had engineers visiting the site on a regular basis to combat the issue which I am happy to confirm has been fixed. Good place to stay - don't eat there

Best feature; Asda is in the carpark!
Stayed here for a sporting event. Hotel was convenient and everything you would expect from a known brand EXCEPT; big mistake to eat there in the evening. We were a party of 16 and we arrived at 8pm so didn't want to go out and find food. Chose to eat in. 2 girls on duty did their best but were totally overwhelmed. Manning front desk, bar, waitressing us AND preparing the food just didn't work. Food took ages, some was burned, chips dried out, portions far, far too small and it all came out 1 at a time with a wait of at least 5 minutes between each person. Our first finished eating nearly an hour before our last got their food. And ll for normal restaurant prices!
Some of us walked over to Asda after we had eaten to buy food to keep us going.

The whole experience was the worst in all my visits to a holiday binn and I would not stay at this location again, the staff were not interested and this is why I did not bring to attention the problems I incurred

Quite Surprised

We were only staying one night and were expecting quite basic accommodation, but were quite surprised at the quality of the hotel, the room and the facilities available. The staff were friendly the breakfast adequate and the overall value for money very good. The hotel had free wifi, which is now important albeit the signal was not great and only basic browsing possible. Overall a good experience I would happily repeat in the future.

Friendly service but bad smell

We visited the Norwich express Holiday Inn last weekend. The reception/dinning/bar area is great and the staff were friendly and helpful however our room was poor in comparison. When we arrived the carpets were dirty/stained and there was an awful smell in the bathroom. We informed reception and they put something down the drains and when we returned from dinner it was much improved. However just as I was getting the children into bed we then found the toilet was blocked, not what I needed at bedtime after a days travelling! The reception staff were quick to come and unblock it, even at 20.30, but by morning the dreadful smell had returned and left us gagging when we entered the bathroom. Also the windows in the room don't appear to open so we couldn't open them to get some fresh air.

We have stayed here before and came back as we had a positive experience last time, based on this experience we may well try somewhere else next time.

EXCELLENT STAFF

Whilst the maintenance and facilities left a little to be desired, the staff's efforts and attitude were absolutely excellent. Breakfast facilities were not sufficient to cope with a Sunday morning rush. Most disappointing of all - NO BACON in an ENGLISH hotel!!!!

Nice staff let down by hotel management

The staffs were very niice, friendly and very helpful.
The air con in the room was not working and the noise from the gym next door was very loud.
Evening menu was very poor so had to drive into Norwich to eat. Breakfast was hardly anything available so had to stop at a Costa Coffee. Overall felt that the staffs were let down by the tools very poor value for money.

No bath towels

This hotel is clean but parking is difficult and on my first night there were no bath towels so small hand towels had to used after a shower! Breakfast was basic to say the least

I am sorry you found the parking difficult, we have hotel guests only parking outside the front of the hotel and a large overflow car park which is shared, if you still struggle to find a spot you are more than welcome to park directly in front of the hotel. I am disappointed there was no bath towels in the room, your comments have been forwarded to housekeeping to ensure this does not happen in the future.
