Double charged my credit card, terrible customer service, manager repeatedly lied about charges

Payed for my first night in advance when I booked. About a couple weeks later when we got to hotel to check in employee confirmed it was already paid and so we only had to pay for the second night. At midnight I woke up to an alert from my bank that I was charged again for the first night. Talked to front desk in the morning and told them I had been double charged she told me she would make a note for management. That was it, no apology, no urgency nothing.. I ask when management would be in and then came back to talk to the manager when she returned. She first tried to say it was just for both nights and they were the same price but this was a lie. They had also charged my husband for the second night and it was in fact a different price for that day and it even lists the price difference by day on my reservation email. So then she tells me it’s just a holding security fee and will drop off but that was also a lie because it would not be the same exact price as the first nights stay. Then she says I only paid once and can’t find my other payment. Which makes no sense if the employee who had originally checked us in was able to find it. So either she was lying or the employee was. I then pulled up and showed her the charges to my bank account confirming they charged me twice for the same exact amount. She then finally admitted a mistake in their system must have occurred and that she would just completely refund me and then just put everything on my husbands card. This ended up being a lie also because she never did this. I still have both charges on my card and I have to wait for the second one to finishing processing so I can just dispute it with my bank since this manager has yet to refund anything or try to fix the problem. Instead she continued to lie over and over again. I will be going above her now to file a complaint because of how inconvenienced I was. I had to spend my entire weekend vacation with half my money missing that I had saved for the trip to do things with my kids.

I like this hotel for its location and clean facilities. This is the only IHG property in this location. Convenient to explore Newport, Lincoln city... I prefer to stay at IHG property for leisure trips before considering other options so this fits great.

We loved our stay at the Holiday Inn Express and Suites in Newport, Oregon. Our room was spotlessly clean with a really comfortable bed. The staff at the front desk was so friendly. Our breakfast was delicious!

We loved our stay and decided to stay an extra day. It was walking distance to the Oregon coast aquarium and cute little shops. Aquarium had lots of interactive programs for the kids. Very short drive to the bayside for dining and more shops. Watched the fishing boats come in at the harbor. Overall a wonderful time and would stay here again. Also can not say enough good things about the staff!!!

There are hotels in Newport with great ocean views that cost a little more, but the day we came back to Newport, it was fogged in. If you want a coast experience, you'll have to drive to get it. Otherwise, this is a decent, newish hotel with a somewhat better than average "continental" breakfast.

We found the hotel very nice and comfortable. After a day of enjoying the sights it was nice to come back to a warm room, and no worries about breakfast in the morning. I would come back to this hotel again and use this chain of hotels in other locations.
