Poor Customer Service

When we first arrived, our room was not available and we had to wait in the lobby while the room was finished being cleaned.
The older lady from behind the counter, asked us to wear our masks and we did, yet 5 minutes later, she's talking to one of her employees that has their mask below their chin. Nice way to make your guests feel welcome.
When we went into the room, there was cat potty on the patio and had to call the desk to send someone to clean it up.
The following morning, we left for the day and returned around dinner time to find our room was not cleaned. We called the front desk and was told that I would have to request maid service if we stayed more than one night. She said, I'm sorry if no one told you. Then brought us towels and sheets.
So, we paid for maid service, yet had to make our own bed. During check-in they made it a point to tell everyone that if they smoked, you would be charged $300 and kicked out. But, failed to let us know that we had to request maid service.

family of four. stayed for a night. woke up the next morning with sore throat-all of us. the air conditioner was not working properly through the night-warm air. was wondering when was the air conditioner last maintained and whether they clean/change the filter. went to the breakfast area to get some tea. we made 2 cups of tea. both the teas were curdled. reported to the front desk person. pointed out that most of the half and half packets looked curdled.

Representatives do not listen to guests concerns but rather interrupt and amuse the answer. Not helpful at all.

Room244 was very dirty old and smelly
Chairs were ripped
Stain carpet, clogged up toilet , stain bath towels
and broken balcony screen door
Dangerous I had my 3 kids with me

Came out to Ventura to escape the heat from Los Angeles. Picked this particular hotel because it allows pets.
Sylvia who checked us in was cheerful and very accommodating to our early arrival and able to check us into a room right away.
The views are spectacular and loved the clear plexiglass on the balcony so you can sit and look out at the boats in the harbor, our fur baby appreciated the view as well! My only real dislike was the carpet in the room. Would be nice if they updated to a more cleaner friendly lament hard floor, especially if pets are allowed. Variety of restaurants and the beach was just a short and pleasant walk from the hotel. Will defiantly be back soon!

The hotel was clean, updated and nice. Staff were all really friendly. What made our stay exceptional was Nelly - she checked us in and took care of us during our stay. Being a seasoned traveler, I have checked in to hundreds of hotels. Nelly definitely stood out, great customer service

Upon arrival we were informed that our room was on the 3rd floor with a harbor view as requested, however, the elevator was not working and they had no idea how long it would be until it was fixed. We asked about our senior discount and the woman checking us in just laughed at us but we thought she was just joking around.
We got some of our things and started up the six flights of stairs to our room. My wife has COPD and this was extremely difficult for her to do.She had to stop at each landing to catch her breath before she could go on. By the time we would get to the room she would have to do a breathing treatment. I had to make several trips to bring our luggage and medical equipment to our room.
The elevator was not repaired the entire time we were there!
Upon checkout we asked about our senior discount again and not only did we not receive that, we were not given any type of compensation for the inconvenience of the elevator not working.
I truly felt that we should have been giving some type of compensation for the inconvenience and also our senior discount.
This was the first time we have ever stayed at a Holiday Inn and were very disappointed. I have always connected the name Holiday Inn with excellent customer service. This certainly did not live up to that expectation.
Great place, can't wait to go back!

The 2nd floor room was perfert! Very quiet, clean, comfortable bed and had all the amenities I needed. Great view, the balcony was amazing, very relaxing.
Excellent customer service, friendly attentive staff. A special thanks to the Sylvia, she was so helpful and made a much needed get away stay the best it could possibly be.
Looking forward to going back soon.

We enjoyed the lovely view and walkway along the Harbor. A great location. Best hotel shower pressure (room 254)! Would definitely recommend if you enjoy the Holiday Inn experience.

We had a choice of a view or a room with a kitchenetter, and we chose the kitchenette. Though we only were staying one night on our trip up the PCH, and didn't cook, we could have. Loved the large size of the room with vaulted ceiling. Bathroom was extremely large and comfortable. Could only hope to be back in Ventura for another stay here.

was here for a business trip and the wifi connection continually dropped even though the signal strength seemed to be good. can't really do much during a business trip if you can't go online. told front desk about it but nothing was done to accommodate my issue.

It was a complete business with pleasure experience for my group. Staff were very professional but yet down to earth that by the end of the day, it did not feel like business in nature. The location is great, cannot ignore to relax due to proximity to the Harbor. Very pleased to have chosen this hotel.
