Our F150 bed cover was cut open, during the night. Luckily everything was taken to our room. First time this has happened, at any of our stays at Holiday Inns.

Gave our suite away, downgraded us and charged us suite rate - manager is MIA

We arrived at the hotel after a long 7 hour drive. Went to check in and the man at the counter sighed as if something was wrong. Then he proceeded to tell us that they didn't have any suites left. He tried to explain that we must have booked with a 3rd party website and that was the issue, but then he confirmed that we booked on the IHG website, so obviously that was not the issue. He was kind enough to call around to the neighboring hotels but no one had a suite to accommodate our family. The solution was to give us a 2 queen bedroom - that was one bed short. We were then promised a discounted rate (which you would expect when you have a downgraded room from your confirmed reservation). We took the room so as not to ruin the trip for our kids. The staff did come through with a rollaway and we were promised a call from the manager the next day (July 10th). July 10th - no call. July 11th - we check out and wow, we are charged the full suite price even though we did not stay in a suite and were promised a discounted rate. The friendly staff member assured us the manager would call us to make things right. Here we are, the 13th of July, still waiting. I guess I should not hold my breath. Funny how you can have a confirmed reservation but yet "somehow we overbooked and we don't actually have the room for you". Really? And to make matters worse, we were traveling with another family who also had a reservation for a suite, and theirs was also gone. Same story with them as well so obviously not a one off here.

Obviously, customer satisfaction is not at the top of this hotel manager's list.
