Worth the stay!

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Nice hotel…clean, nice rooms, great amenities, really good breakfast (and not out of a bag!), well-organized, great wifi, 10 minute walk from Byward Market and most importantly concerns that came up were addressed and taken care of! I really have no complaints and would definitely stay here again!
Shout out to « Ray » who was most helpful and pleasant to deal with.

I stayed at this property in November on a business trip and returned in August to take advantage of the Ottawa Tourism Promotion. Therefore one could say that I'm a fan of this property due to the fact that its only year old, and the location, and the price!! The only difference is there is a pandemic going on now which means there's new guidelines. They did a great job with check in - I felt totally safe and comfortable. However it was not communicated to us that there would be no house-keeping during our stay (ie the garbage wouldn't be emptied, the bed would not be made after our first night, the room would not be tidied etc). It makes total sense however I wish I would have known. I also wish there was signage re; how many people could go into the elevators or decals in the elevator where you could stand.
COVID-19 Health Standards Not Followed

Stayed here for a night with my kids. Health standards not being followed by staff. Please red below.
What was good:
- Location: Quite close to Parliament Hill
- Room was big and seemed clean. The view was pretty good as well. We could see the Parliament Buildings.
What wasn't that good:
- Location: The hotel was in a very odd neighbourhood of the city with a lot of (what I could presume were) drug addicts and homeless people. Normally it would not be a concern but I was with my kids and felt a little unsafe.
- Sanitation: The hotel was not following health guidelines regarding COVID-19. I was told while making the booking that this would be a a contactless check-in .However, the gentleman at the front desk was using the same pair of gloves to physically hold and check each guest's ID and credit card. A paper form was also being provided to the guests to sign and return. These were to be signed using a bunch of pens at the desk that every guest was using. I point this out to the front desk staff and was told that they did not have any hand sanitizer at the front desk. There was only 1 dispenser at the elevators on the ground level only. The dispenser was not being refilled and was empty on the day we were checking out. This is unacceptable and should be taken seriously.
