Typical Staff Plague

Room was fine. The person that checked me in on arrival was friendly enough. First off, the hotel was not overly busy at all and as a Spire/Diamond Elite member my stay should have been upgraded to a suite as they do in most locations when one is available. This crew did not do this and never do it.
Next, in early AM (about 4am I think) I went down to grab a toothbrush from the front desk. This is a common amenity when you forget your own. No one there at the desk. I called out, no response. Waited about 10-15 minutes and still nothing. So I just went back to room.
Later when I left to check out, no copy of my receipt let under my door and no emailed receipt. And of course…no one at the front desk again. Today I called from my home state to get a copy of the bill emailed to me. And…no one is answering the phone there. Absolutely great…Just great.
The little things matter. It’s what sets you apart from your competition.
This location needs a serious overhaul on staff training and enforcement. There are way too many choices in hotels and this is why I don’t stay at this one often. Only when my business for the day has a client very near this hotel.

Rude Manager

I will never stay at this hotel or any other Holiday Inn Express again. Or even an IHG hotel. I stayed at this hotel one night with a group of people (sports). When we checked in, one of the parent's credit card was charged for 2 nights and we were only staying one, but they had given the room away to another person, mind you after already charging the card. I had issues with my card being charged, so I contacted Walt (the general manager) to resolve the issue and he was no help at all. He was rude and talked to me with a tone in his voice like I was getting on his nerves. I would not recommend anyone staying at this hotel nor any other from this chain.

Disrepectful and Racial Management

We will never stay at this location ever again! Totally disrespectful and racist! We will definitely be considering a civil lawsuit. Upon checking in I asked what time the pool closed. The agent said the pool was being reserved for a pool party and we could use the pool until 9pm. I hesitated and asked her to confirm with the hotel manager the times we can use the pool as this was the main reason we were PAYING for the overnight stay. Her manager confirmed. We arrive to the hotel and as we are walking in the sarcastic white female agent says on guys remember not to be noisy because I have people working overnight. Mind you we walked in very quietly and un noticeable. And that comment didnt even make sense because if they were working overnight then they wouldnt be here to complain right? That was strike 1-that comment was made in front of a guest(african american male who was shocked by the comment as he walked by) whom I befriended as a witness in this case as well-one of who was actually on his way to working overnight and returning to the hotel later. So,around 710pm we went to the pool because we only had 2 hours. As we were in the pool, the white female manager came in around 810pm and said she spoke with my husband and let me know that if the kids whom are with us are not actually staying the night at the hotel, they could not swim. I told her respectfully, which I recorded, because I was recording my childrens fun moments in the pool and luckily kept recording as she saw and then when she realized it her whole demeanor changed. I told her respectfully that First of all I am not married so you could not have talked to my husband, then she says well I talked to somebody. So she explained it again and I kindly said ok kids we have ten more minutes. She left the pool area. I pondered for a moment. Calmed down. After researching the hotel policies and other amendments online, I went back to the front desk and told them that I have changed my mind and decided I would allow my daughters friends to stay with us overnight. This way we can all resume our pool fun until our promised 9pm.
She started to growl disrespectfully and say other things but I walked away at that moment, as not to react without witnesses other than the agent standing behind the counter.

We finished our pool time and guess what, the reserved private pool party resumed and made all the noise in the world. But did we as guests complain about that no because two wrongs dont make a right.

Needless to say, we (the quiet black kids who abided by the get out of the pool by 9 rules, contaminated the pool quietly and resumed to check out quietly the next morning) will never visit this hotel again.
