HORRIBLE LOCATION

My Wife and I stayed at this location during the Mavs and Warriors playoff game and the uncleanliness and smell was horrible. Our first room was missing the phone, mini fridge, microwave, and coffee maker. The sheets had hair on them. The shower was old, rusty and looked as if it had been barely cleaned. The walls had dark liquid spills and dried up blood. The second room we were moved too had dried blood on the sheets. We were not able to relax and get comfortable due to nastiness of both of our rooms. We had to sleep with our clothes on on top of a blanket we bought with us through night until the morning so we could check out and find another hotel. This was the worst of worse and we will NEVER stay at this location again. That location needs to be closed for major upgrades and cleaning. I would have given the staff a batter rating but we still have not reviewed our room credit as promised.

This is NOT an indictment of the staff at this property; all of whom I found to be courteous, helpful, and downright nice! That said, the property is in need of basic maintenance and repair. A lot of basic maintenance and repair -
1) Shower curtain rod was bent to such a degree that it would not stay closed.
2) The tub/shower water valve would not shut off. Not just a drip, it was a steady stream of water.
3) The desk chair was broken (this was not obvious and was promptly replaced by a very courteous housekeeper).
4) My coworker who also had a 7-day reservation had to switch rooms after the second night due to the condition of his room. I later found out that he had been booked into a room without a mini fridge, coffee maker, nor a microwave....
Towel Shortage

When you roll into Dallas late at night after a full day on the road, the last thing you want to find in your room is no towels. There is a towel shortage, so you’re on your own. I went out and got a towel from my truck and came back in and the front desk fellow said “ you mean you don’t have anything in your room?” Apparently he didn’t believe me. He came back with a towel and a washcloth that were bone dry, after telling me that he just put the towels in the dryer. I’ve stayed here before and found it moderate in quality and comfort, but this stay ended our relationship. I went next door to La Quinta to talk about points and rates for the future.

I have stayed with Holiday Inn Express many times and have never had such a poor experience. The walk from the lobby to the room was quite nasty. Stains covered the carpets. The numbers outside the doors were dirty and some even missing. The doors were in poor condition. Our door took some force to shut and even more muscle if you wanted to lock it. Shortly after arrival and check in we attempted to shower. Our shower was not only nonfunctional but also missing the shower curtain. I went downstairs to make the staff aware. After telling the rest of our party that the hotel was sold out and they had no vacant rooms they moved us to a new room in attempt to remedy the shower situation. Once we moved all our things to the new room we yet again attempted to shower. The shower in the new room was indeed functional. However, there’s just nothing quite like climbing out of the shower to wrap yourself in a towel that reeks of vomit and mildew. The hotel was under a lot of very much needed construction. However, that would be nice to know when booking. Very, very poor experience. Would not recommend.

Advertised shuttle service was not available, so we had to call a taxi to go to the state fair! cost $20 each way!!

I was initially told by state fair that this hotel ran into the DART train system and that it would take me right to the front entrance of the fair. When I get there, I asked about the DART route and they said that this hotel was NOT it. The drive wasn't too bad. The water pressure in the shower wasn't what I am used to, the ac in our room was average. Again, not what I'm used to. I love coming back to the room and having a fresh cold room. That was not the case after spending 5 hours at the fair.

This hotel is very clean and very close to the state fair. The rooms are very clean as well the froant desk employees were very friendly as well. I would recemmend this hotel.

Parking spaces in front were limited.Not enough light on parking lot behind hotel.Everything else was GREAT.

Finally, a great, clean, safe hotel to stay in on Dallas' East Side. Close to Fair Park, Tenison Park for Shakespeare, and the White Rock Lake/Lakewood areas. Easy access both east and west. Nice staff
