Everything Great--Except Housekeeping Services

My 5-night stay (December 28-January 2nd) at this hotel was pretty good. I enjoyed the location, the view (I, for one, love the sound of traffic and seeing the cars travel right outside my window), and the amenities (especially the washer/dryer room located downstairs). For those folks who cannot sleep with a lot of noise, do not worry. I think the windows did a great job of muffling the noise from outside. My only complaint with this hotel was the lack of housekeeping service. One of the front desk attendants informed me that I would receive housekeeping service on my 3rd night or when I called to specifically request it. This information is also available on a paper card by the telephone inside the hotel room. Unfortunately, however, I did not receive housekeeping service on any night and not even when I called specifically to request it. On one particular day, I called at 1pm to request a change of towels, trash pick-up, and more shampoo, conditioner, and shower gel (these are affixed to the tub), and when I returned at 8pm that evening, nothing had been addressed. I called the front desk again at 8pm to see if housekeeping could address this and a security guard showed up later with the items. I was handed the towels, plastic laundry bags, and the 3 shower bottles. I asked the nice security guard lady if someone could assist with removing the dirty towels and trash pick-up, but she politely asked me to just place everything outside of the door. She indicated that she was there only to help housekeeping. I completely understood that was not part of her job, so I decided to do it myself. I emptied out my own trash bins and replaced my own towels. Since the shower shampoo/conditioner/shower gel bottles are affixed to the tub, I placed the 3 new bottles I received on the corner of the tub and used those. At other hotels, housekeeping comes and simply refills the already-affixed bottles. Overall, I had a pleasant stay, but would have appreciated housekeeping to provide more reliable service.

Kind Staff, Horrible Parking System

My husband and I recently stayed at the Woodside location. This is a new hotel, so it’s clean and the staff is kind. However, our entire experience was ruined due to their parking system. They offer paid parking in their garage (22 spaces available) of $40/night. This guarantees you a spot in the garage no matter how many times you come and go from the hotel. You would think after the 22 spaces were sold, that they wouldn’t offer it to anyone else until one of the paid guests checks out. Wrong! They over sell their spaces, thus having to double park multiple cars. They then wanted you to leave your keys at the front desk (if forced to double park) so they could move your car if needed. But only certain guests were told this as they didn’t have someone working the garage 24/7. It was during a random hour they had an employee down there. So not everyone heard this information. Two things wrong with this: why are they overselling spaces and making it inconvenient for their guests? Also, why did only certain guests hear this information and why do I need to leave my keys with the front desk who has no experience being a valet. I would never let a hotel move my car if they weren’t experienced in the area such as a valet. My husband and I checked out at 9:20am. We didn’t get out of the parking garage until 10:30am due to a car double parking in front of ours and having zero clue of who the car belonged to because no one was manning the garage to remind guests to leave their keys at the desk. We were unbelievably upset and will never stay at this hotel again simply for that reason. In addition, nothing was done for us. No discount on the room, no free parking for the inconvenience of having to sit in our car for over an hour, nothing. A simple “we’re trying to figure it out” was all we were given. Horrible system. We stay at quite a few hotels and this I have to say has never happened. We are very disappointed in how they handle the situation.
