EMERGENCY!!

A room is needed with a pool required.....emergency!!
Information checked online and "jackpot" a kind, understanding, polite professional at the front desk. Must have lucked out. After interaction for reservations made minutes ago I realized..... they actually WANT my groups happiness. Say thank you while grabbing the room keys....late for Texas de Brazil.... about 12mins away. Well depending on lights and that's another story, lol. Finish food and back for pool. Great set up with towels easy to acquire. Even the other quest were relaxed and positive. Am I getting "Punked??" like the classic show. Well....so far, so good. Spotted the 24hr gym and know where I'll be early morning. Breakfast is 6am and the dining area is just that....a legit area. Easy to social distance while still giving the "head nod" or more traditional "good morning" to staff and guest. Depends if you had your coffee or not....lol. More of a black earl/green tea drinker myself. TMI....I know, but your still here sooo, lol. Wanted 4floor and away from elevator....score. Room is clean, inviting and plenty of options for lighting. Natural or powered. Bathroom is modern. Hold on..... this shower head!! There is magic to be had here.... mental note take long shower. More for enjoyment and I guess I'll get clean also....lol. Fast forward to the next "emergency." We have young adults that are not so "young" anymore. The group goes to the pool while I conduct in my mind the best way to make everyone comfortable. Remember....we are in "a" room.....sure they can fit, but is that really what we want to do? The answer is no by the way. Lol.... so i call reservations. Set up a "cash-points" combo for a standard room. Now the explanation is they will try to accommodate on location/room type. No guarantees with that. So.... hallway, elevator and lobby. Hi..... I'm back with more "demands." The front professional smiled and after a confusing explanation on my part I got a, "I don't see why not" for my request. It's obvious I have mind control within the walls of this well put together establishment. What did I request you ask?? Oh now your interested....huh?? Lol, well we need another room, but location is key. I noticed that the room next to us was very silent. Maybe they were "sleeping" the entire time? Turns out was open..... so adjoining rooms it is. After the pool game consoles, tablets and smart phones connect to the WiFi. Along with the name of the person who helped the Holiday Inn/Hoffman Estate's team to make this awesome-ness happen. Yes I sprained my arm patting myself on the back.....don't judge me....lolololol. Next morning excellent breakfast. Got a greeting, explanation of all items and just a general peace. Very nice. Conversation, good food and back to the rooms. Time for me to get to the gym.....ME FORGET.... not likely. Got my gear and respirator to cover my nose/mouth for everyone's protection. Don't forget Americans protect World. So I do my part by working out with my mask. Captain America would give me a thumbs up. Tread mill, 2.5 incline, 2mph, 2-5lb dumbells, music from phone and weight vest-4lbs. Yesss, that's correct.... I'm doing "ok" with my health goals. Still plenty further to go....yet I regress, lol. Back upstairs.... need to showe before the nature trails. There are over 100 acres..... the screen in the lobby told me so. I would like to end as I began...."emergency." Some what is required, while others take on your burdens. As if to say, "We got your back." This location is no stranger to making "emergencies" into photo opportunities with Family/Friends. Alright it's Easter Sunday and in off two more days....lol. Hopefully we will meet up in Hoffman Estates. Or better yet....beat me there. (Don't judge me if I had incorrect spelling or punctuation... the "smart phone" did it. I just work and pay taxes...LOL)

Checked in at 1am on Friday morning and was assigned already occupied by sleeping guests. Went back and got called a different name, given another key to the wrong room. Went back a 3rd time finally got the correct room.

So it was a newer hotel so the facilities were nice. Had our granddaughter so wanted to use the pool. Found out they were letting locals reserve the pool so guests took a back seat. Should have specified how they were reserving the pool in the reservation and maybe we could have gotten a a reservation. Disappointing to see house guests not given priority. Room was not going to be cleaned until 8:00pm so we just took some clean towels. Breakfast options were very limited more so than any IHG property I’ve stayed at. Seemed to be doing a lot of training of desk staff but had folks waiting on customers with tshirts on. Always folks downstairs complaining about something when we walked through.

My husband and I purchased the Birthday package for my daughter's 6th Birthday. From the time we called to make reservations, to the time we checked-out, the staff was Phenomenal.
We had our suite decorated for the birthday girl by the hotel, rented the conference room with decorations from the hotel, plus our own, and reserved the pool area with our own decorations.
If your looking for something to do for the little ones, you will not be disappointed at this hotel.
