Hotel Dirty & Staff Apathetic

By

April 09, 2021

During this time of COVID-19 I understand that many amenities and hotel processes have changed and I agree with every single one of them. That being said, however, we found this hotel to be dirty in a variety of ways.
1. The ice bucket in our room still had ice in it from the previous renter. This is gross anytime but especially dangerous during a pandemic. When I asked for a clean ice bucket I was told my the front desk clerk that he didn't know where they were kept and to "ask later". When I asked later the next front desk clerk told me he needed to clean one out for me and then proceeded to give me one that was dripping wet, with no plastic bag.
2. I understand, and agree with the new policy of only cleaning the rooms after the 5th day of a stay. We stayed 5 days exactly so did not have our room cleaned. This meant that our trash piled up to the point that we had to take it out ourselves. We also had to repeatedly ask for cups as they were not being replenished. This also meant that we didn't have enough towels because there were not four clean towels in the room when we checked in. If we are taking out our own trash and the room is not being cleaned then why was the room charge the same? This was not a good value.
3. There were dirty towels piled up on the floor on the workout room, every day we were there. It appears as though this room was never cleaned, despite it being used. The sign in the workout room asked patrons to clean the equipment after use, which makes sense, but there was no cleaner available.
4. There was a large amount of dirt on the hot tub walls.
5. The trash cans in the breakfast area were often overflowing.
6. The breakfast area was not monitored often and there was often times when there were no cups to use during the breakfast hours.

I would not stay at this location again.

Disappointed

By

October 20, 2020

My husband and I recently went on a cross country trip. During this trip, we stayed at several different hotel chains along the way. I have to say that the Holiday Inn Express & Suites in Williams, Arizona was the most disappointing.

We arrived on 10/9/20 for 2 nights prior to traveling to the Grand Canyon. Since we had been on the road, we needed to use the laundry facilities. Two washers were in the laundry, the front loader was out of order, I think. A note was on top of the front loader but it was not attached. When I asked the employee at the front desk, she didn’t know for sure if it was out of order bc she hadn’t been there in a couple of days. Then she was busy (only employee there) and never acknowledged my problem again. I decided to use the top loader, it worked fine. However, these were the filthiest washers and dryers I have ever used. I went back to my room and retrieved towels and cleaning products to clean them prior to their use.

The second night was the loudest night spent in any hotel. Apparently the walls were paper thin and the neighbors were so loud I heard all their conversations. I tried to call the front desk two times but no one answered.

The morning of checkout we planned to get a bag of grab & go breakfast since that was all that was offered due to covid. We were running a little late. The breakfast was not on a table to grab and go as at the "competitor" nor was a hot breakfast served by an employee as at the "another competitor". We had to wait in line at the front desk to get our breakfast and coffee from the front desk clerk. Again, the only employee. I was 3 deep in line and the guest with the front desk employee had a problem with her bill. Needless to say, I did not wait around for the grab & go breakfast.

This hotel is very nice, in a great location and it was busy! The cost for the 2 of us for a two night stay was $too much. This price may not be a lot of money to some but it is to us. I expect to have fewer problems and more satisfaction when paying this much for a night’s stay. I’m not one that usually writes reviews but these problems need to be addressed prior to the next dissatisfied guest.

Not This Holiday Inn Express

Read GRAND CANYON BUMMER"S review before you read this one. I was there when they left the hotel and now I know why. My room had no internet, the front desk told me to call a 800 number to get it fixed. That came after she called her manager. The door deadbolt would not lock. I didn't complain about it as it was too late at night and they probably would have given me the number of a locksmith to call. There is NO HOSPITALITY offered, however if I walked across the street and sat down at a restaurant I could eat. The pool is closed even though Arizona currently has no restrictions. I live in AZ. I have stayed at dozens of HIE's and this one looks good on the outside but not inside. There also was mold in the shower stall. Find yourself another place to stay in Williams, AZ. I too was at the Grand Canyon all day and returned to this caper.

We went there after traveling from Laughlin hoping to get a breakfast because we were unfamiliar with the area. On website it was still claiming breakfast included.
