Hotel Nice - parking is per manager at your own risk

I have been staying at this facility since pre-covid due to being a client at MDAnderson. My brother who is as well just spent over 8 months in Houston receiving treatment and needed a place to stay for his 1st return check up; I recommended this place.
He woke up to the window of his expensive truck being smashed out. He called the police, when they came to take the report, he was informed that they had over 100+ calls about vehicle break ins at this hotel since February of 2021. As a Gold Elite member, I found this unacceptable.
I reached out and voiced my concerns. I requested the parking lot attendants that were there pre-covid be put back into place. I received a response from the manager at this place and stated he would not help with this. The hotel has a "park at your own risk" policy and offered to cancel my upcoming reservation. I cancelled my reservation because I did not want have him go out of his way; if he didn't care about the safety of my personal belongings, I have no use for him.

HORRIBLE PLACE

DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY!!!!! This place is the worst place I have ever been as far as customer service and so called "hospitality" and that is from the hotel manager himself. There were 5 vehicles broken into the 2nd night of my stay. Apparently, this is an ongoing, constant, every week event at this particular hotel. The vehicle owners called the police to get police reports. The policeman arrived and explained that this is a high crime hotel and they have been called several times in just the last few months. The police have given suggestions to put up security cameras, post signs, and also hire 24 hour security guards but to no avail. The hotel manager got nasty with the policeman when he was telling us that it wasn't a good place to stay and offering better suggestions WITH SECURITY. The policeman said he was there to serve the citizens. Please take my advice and stay somewhere else!!!! When you are there for medical reasons at the cancer center you at least want a peaceful place to stay and this place is NOT that!! This has probably done me in from ever staying at another Holiday Inn!!!

Owner has no Respect for you

The owner Vikas and the General manager Jack Murphy does not care about your or your property. He will tell you that they break into the cars and steal everything and anything all of the time? He wont have his staff advise you of this at check in. He also said that it is a liability to have Camera's ine parking lot to be able to watch over your property. he also claims that the Police Department refused to allow him to put ion a gated protection? he wil tell you he has been doing this along time and he is protected because he has a sign that says he is not liable for your valuables or your vehicle. There was over 20 vehicles broke into the night of 3-9 to 10 says deal with his Insurance Company as they will decline your claim Please understand its not just livestock peopel that frequent this facility it is in the middle of the Medical District and ones there having treatments will not be protected and that is the last thing you need.

Stayed for a week-family trip. Great location, close to many amenities. Everyone made us feel welcome, the security guards, the hotel staff, cleaning/ housekeeping and so on...always made our day with their friendly smiles. Always willing to help. What impressed me was how they welcomed medical patients and returning patients treated them like family. They even gave out free hugs! My daughter doesn’t like to eat breakfast and asked me to tell the cook staff that they made the best breakfasts...she ate breakfast EVERY DAY!
