Downtown Dallas Gem!

More like a 4.5* review. What a great hotel. The historic charm combined with modern upgrades and decoration make the whole place inviting. Staff was great and very friendly - Tasha, Nate, Bryan & Jonah all really made our stay perfect! . I saw several reviews complaining about the valet but we found it great. Call ahead when you need the car and then just pull up at front and they park it for you.
Any complaints about the hotel are minor - BAD coffee from the restaurant. Was a little upset to pay $4 for drip coffee that was just brown water. Our room had 2 queen beds that were actually very comfortable for a hotel and a decent size bathroom, but it would have been nice to have a mirror in the room itself and not just the bathroom. 4 people in 1 room made it really hard to get ready at the same time. Also, when we got into our room, both toilet paper rolls had just a little on it and no spares so on the very first day we had to call for more toilet paper. All around though, would not only recommend hotel to others but gladly stay again.

Cleanliness Poor

In town to visit my very ill mother, we checked into Hotel Indigo on 09/11/2020 thru 09/14/2020. The front desk staff was very nice. Once we got to our room; which was a double bed room it appeared to be nice. Feeling very tired from traveling we decided to wipe down our room using Clorox wipes to find the room was not clean...I did a bed check; checking the pillowcases...a couple of them dirty the others dingy pulled the covers back sheets didn’t appear to be clean. Checked the other bed the pillow cases wasn’t clean, pull the covers back and there was hair in the bed, hair under the sheet that was visible. (I wish I’d taken a picture or video) I went down to the front desk to make them aware and to ask for new sheets and pillow cases. I did offer the guy to come take a look...he declined. The next day 09/12/2020 I noticed the bottom of the toilet was filthy...nasty! I took a video of it and showed it to the person at the front desk, she said she’ll send housekeeping up to clean it. At checkout on 09/14/2020 I mentioned the issues...instead of giving me a free day they only took off $50. I didn’t argue the issue because I had to catch a flight. I wish I could post the video on this review. This experience has taught me that you can’t always believe the reviews......they Lie!

INDIGO was the Worst Hotel I have ever stayed at...

I have been to the Indigo Hotel many times to have a drink in the bar before and after a show at the Majestic Theater. I loved the hotel and ask my husband to stay there for my 60th birthday. We booked a Suite so that my sister and spouse could stay with us for the occasion, The pictures on the internet show the suite to be very large. I was so excited to experience this special night. When we arrived to the hotel and received our room keys it was not the room I had ordered through reservations which was made at their front desk not a online site person. I called down to the front desk and was told that there was two different types of suite That's funny I was not informed of this while booking the room. The man that I talked with said that the hotel was built in 1925 and that's just the way it was built. He was very short with me. I called back to the front desk and asked to speak with the manager. I was put on hold for about 10 minutes and them the same person was back on the phone with me. He informed me that he just talked with me and I asked if he was the manager and he said yes. At this point I just needed to make the best of a bad situation I was not going to get anywhere with them. The suite was very clean and nice....but very small and the restroom was in the main bedroom the remote to the TV did not work and the coffee maker did not work.. They charge an extra 20.00 person for the room... How weird is this a bathroom for 4 people in the main bedroom...This is not stated nor shown on the internet when looking at the rooms on their website. Why would you get a Suite when a double Queen would have been the better for (4) people? I am guessing to charge more money! We had to be at the Majestic Theater at 7pm... so we decided to have drinks and eat dinner after the show. Upon arriving back to the hotel the bar and restaurant was already closed at 9:45pm. Again it showed the Restaurant and Bar area to be open until 11pm. We talked with a few couples in the elevator and they were just as upset as we were. We would have made other arrangements if we knew that they was closing early. Again we called the front desk and this time they told us that NO MANAGER WAS ON DUTY.....WHAT on a Saturday night with apparently a full hotel. We had to have food delivered and wait over an hour to get food. It would have been nice if anyone at the Indigo acted like they care about the people staying at the hotel. We will be staying at hotel across the street from now on....

Great atmosphere !

The staff was outstanding and the room was very updated and comfortable. Very quite. Restaurant and bar area was great. Location was within walking distance of venue. Love the rehab of downtown structure conversion into Indigo Hotels. Our preferred IHG Hotel to stay at.

Complimentary breakfast and drinks at the bar

The breakfast was very good and I like very much ordering from the menu and having my meal served. Bartending staff were great fun, and after a long flight a complimentary drink at the bar was most welcome. It's these "extras" that make it a good value.

First time at an indigo so was expecting something a bit more sophisticated. The hotel seemed a bit tired and the modern decor did not hide this. The bedroom was an odd layout with the 2 queen beds facing each other across the room so I felt a long way away from my husband! The air conditioning had been left at freezing and blowing onto my bed so when it was turned up to heat my bed became damp. I ended up sharing with my husband instead. On the plus side the staff were really pleasant and helpful and the breakfast was reasonable value for a hotel.

Boutique Hotel - ok stay for the money

The hotel is fairly old but the common areas are well kept, bright and colorful. The rooms are adequate, but are in need of a real overhaul (not just another coat of bright paint) The flooring in the room is cheap laminate that is not holding up well and seems difficult to keep clean. The bed was comfortable and there were abundant pillows. The A/C in the room never went below 70 degrees even though it was set to 65. During most of the stay, one of thre guest elevators was out of service and the staff elevator was dirty and old. I really enjoyed the breakfast offerings and had dinner twice while staying here. Due to a large confernce going on, the wait staff had difficulty providing adequate service, but it was understandable. it was much less crowded in the evenings and the bartender was very attentive.

Nice stay

The room and hotel as a whole were very comfortable the location was also a plus, within walking distance to Deep Ellum. A shuttle was provided to take you to places within the area. The staff was very accomodating
