We had a lovely stay in the indigo princess street Edinburgh. We arrived early and didn’t expect our room to be ready but it was!! So we checked in straight away. The reception staff were so friendly and helpful, check in/out was great with no issues. Our room was on the 2nd floor, and what a lovely room it was, very clean and very spacious. The bed was incredible, haven’t slept that well in a lot of years!! Bathroom was lovely and spacious too! We went down to breakfast and had the choice between continental (pastries, ham, cheeses, yoghurts, fruit salad, porridge etc) and full Scottish breakfast, eggs benedict etc. We had a bit of both over our 2 days stay. Really lovely breakfast and very lovely staff. One of the nights we went to the bar for a few drinks before we went out, again lovely drinks menu and the staff behind the bar couldn’t do enough for us! Amazing cocktails by the way!! All in all an amazing stay, thank you very much to you all.

This is my second review

We stayed at this hotel for a long awaited break away -
The room looked ok but the curtains were hanging down, the fridge was dirty inside and the shampoo etc had all previously been used.
The room overlooked a dirty yard.
I lost a valuable bracelet in Edinbugh somewhere but hoped it might have fallen off in our room, I contacted the hotel on my way to catch our train,
The final straw was when were arrived in our home town station the hotel phoned to say we had the wrong suitcase, how that happened I have no idea, maybe the receptionist didnt check the ticket my husband handed to them ( the case was identical to ours)
I have phoned the hotel 3 times to speak to the manager and have been informed each time he will call me back. I have contacted Hotel indigo Head office and have been given 2 case numbers for my complaints but alas still no contact from anyone ??
If you want a nice stress free weekend DONT STAY HERE

Terrible hotel

By

June 05, 2021

Our room number 309 overlooked a filthy yard, the curtain was hanging down, the fridge has spilt blackcurrant juice in it, the shampoos etc had been used before, we werent informed there wasnt any housekeeping so we had wet dirty towels for the 2 nights we stayed, we couldnt book a meal in the hotel it was fully booked as were most of the bars and restauraunts in the vicinity, I lost a bracelet which was very dear to me in Edinburgh somewhere, and to end off a miserable weekend when we got off the train in our home town the hotel phoned to say we had the wrong case, which thankfully was rectified by a courier who was sent to collect the case we had brought home and pick up ours, we finaly got our case a day later
This Hotel has put me off booking any Indigo hotels in future

Very Good Location; Comfortable Room

Location is directly across from the Train Station. You can take a bus from the airport directly to the train station and walk across the street to the hotel. We were slightly disappointed at the friendliness of the desk staff during check in. Unlike most IHG staff, we found them to be "less enthusiastic" in their welcome and recognition of status. Also, at our departure, there was no inquiry regarding how we enjoyed the stay, etc. On the other hand, the location certainly outweighed that issue. The room was good sized and facilities were clean. The reception is on the 1st (not ground) floor. You walk to the back of the hall and find the elevator on the left. It might be difficult to immediately locate the entrance, since it is beside of a health food store and the Hotel Indigo sign is just above the door (no overhang). You can walk to both Old Town (uphill) or New Town shopping within 10-15 minutes.
