Dirty room and very old furniture

Old and destroyed furniture. Dirty suite with spots on the floor. Wall with cracks. Used handkerchief under the bed. No electricity connection for hair dryer in the bathroom. That was a Suite ? OMG

So that was a reason of complaints. The staff was friendly. They told us that they knew about the situation. WHAT? We got a new suite…some conditions. It’s was terrible. The whole building / hotel is in a bad condition.

Pool and spa…was a feeling like a public swimming pool. Nothing for relaxing.

The worst hotel by a mile I’ve ever stayed. Please have look at IHG Asia.

The best was the club lounge. But nothing special.

I’m a intercontinental Ambassador.

Suggestion: Book the Holiday Inn Express. It is next to the intercontinental and cheaper.

Great hotel, with lovely staff.

We stayed in a Club Room and used the Club Lounge on the 15th floor. This is our second stay at the Intercon, Malta and it didn't disappoint.
All the staff we met were absolutely first class, especially in the Club Lounge and particularly Rita and Geojin whose service was exemplary. The food on offer on offer was also very good.
The only slight disappointment was the level of light in the suite - it was a bit dark.
We will definitely stay again.

Just becase you call it a suite, its really not a suite.

Advised on check-in on 11 Oct that we were upgraded to "junior suite" due to Platinum Ambassador status. "Junior Suite" turned out to be a regular room with a sofa, likely bigger than the IC Club Panoramic room which was booked, but certainly not a suite by any means. Completely understand that upgrade is a privilege offered when available, however see no point in a fake upgrade to a "junior suite". Definition of "suite" is a collection or set of rooms, not just a slightly bigger room with a sofa with coffee mugs and coffee / tea, but no kettle. Asked Club Lounge if any better rooms were available for the Platinum Ambassador upgrade. Advised hotel full and no better rooms were available and that we should be happy with the "junior suite". However, received call later in the day and miraculously a real suite had become available for last 3 nights of our 5 night stay, BUT at an additional cost of US$85 per night. I accepted and paid the difference, but disappointed that Platinum Ambassador status got me a fake upgrade, but $85/night got me a real upgrade. I could have just booked the terrace suite to start with for extra $85 or so and not have had to worry about the Ambassador upgrade at all.

Normal as any 4 star hotel

To begin with:

1. Me and my wife were not regognized as a platinum member at the front desk, as we had when we visited Nepal ,India,Holland and Italy lately !!

2. There were No refreshment for the pillows as there is at the Crowne Plaza.

3. We stayed Two full days, and ONLY once the cleaning staff entered our room.

4. Usually we get a piece of chocolate by the bed each afternoon.. Never happened !!

5. Maybe we were were spoiled by getting a fruit basket, but Nothing was showing. Even Holiday Express in Itally had apples at the front desk !

6. No ammenities were provided such as Toothpaste or shaving kid; However we had all these on us.

7. No water was available in the room Not even a Sigle bottle during our stay !!

8. No creamer by the coffee /Tea was found !!

All of the above was said to the duty manager who made me smile at the end !
