Detroit native RJ Cooper earned a James Beard Award in 2007, while working as chef de cuisine at D.C.’s Vidalia. A graduate of Chicago’s Kendall College, he honed his cooking style while apprenticing with such talents as Gilbert Le Coze and Eric Ripert. He also founded the Share Our Strength Chefs on Bikes program, which works to end child hunger.
