Staff is very friendly and I’m so happy they did not have my daughter a hard time checking in before me since I’m using my point and I added her name. Some places they try to I derogate her before checking in which makes her uncomfortable..

My wife and I travel quite a bit and generally like staying with an IHG brand hotel. This stay was a disappointment from the start, first off this hotel is very old and not well maintained. The room is small old tvs (bedroom tv was awful) shower had hair stuck to walls and also bathroom floor. Toilet was extremely low to floor and uncomfortable. Sink area same thing hair found all over. Bed was NOT comfortable at all being too hard! The room just did not feel like nor comfortable and that’s not what we normally find at a Staybridge Hotel.
One other thing, while checking in on arrival I felt the young lady treated me as if she was doing me a favor by doing her job! Really out of character for a front desk clerk, no greeting no thank you no nothing so to say it was a disappointment, I guess you could say that is an understatement. I would never stay here again…

I enjoyed my stay overall. Although I did not get to enjoy the jacuzzi amenity during the trip. Due to the maintenance person not being available and us waiting in the jacuzzi for at least 30 minutes. The room was homey and comfortable yet there were ants in and around the shower plus a stain near the front door. The breakfast was flavorful and hearty. The location was central to stores, outlet and the beach which was perfect for my girls trip. The complimentary breakfast and free parking was perfect for our budget.

Traveling with three young children is always a challenge but having a kitchen and private bedroom go a long way in making things easier. The staff was very friendly and quick to address two lights being out and brought up a roll away crib for us.
The only downside was how ineffective the dishwasher was. The detergent they provide clumps horribly and doesn’t disperse. Even when we used our own detergent and set the dishwasher to heavy wash, things still didn’t get clean. Our two older kids have anaphylactic food allergies so the kitchen is and especially dishwasher are one of the main reasons we chose this hotel.
Overall, we will probably stay here again because it was a great value for the price and we can always hand wash things if the dishwasher issue isn’t a one-off.

I will not write out everything I want to say about my experience. I am an employee of IHG and can understand that mistakes happen. It was how the mistake was handled that was the issue. To Luca- if you say you are going to do something, do it. If you can’t or don’t know how- ask. If you see you can’t after you hang up with a guest call them. Admit your mistake.
To the asst manager Brittany: when you try so hard to be right you don’t listen to the issue. Idk if it was bc I was an employee I was treated the way I was but I can only imagine how your interaction with another guest would be.
The body wash in the shower was filled with lotion. The fridge had a strong fishy order especially the ice. Despite this I still recommend the property. My son loved it and it’s amenities. Although bc of misinformation we weren’t able to use all of them like we may have wanted. Breakfast was pretty decent. And close to everywhere we needed to be.

The cost was alway too much.. $400+ per night and the carpets in the halls were filthy, we saw a roach and the breakfast was the absolute worst with an obvious effort by this management to cut cost . The lady was nice but she only puts out what they let her. It is so far below the standard of IHG and Staybridge and it’s a disgrace. This is a huge disappointment… I have been a platinum and gold rewards member for over two decades and do not travel as much now … IHG was always a go to to avoid stays like this…

The halls were in clean and the breakfast was terrible. The ladies making it was nice but clearly the management are cutting cost. There was almost nothing and the coffee was out a few times. Some guest were loading boxes and boxes of the food up and taking it . The hall carpet was disgusting!!! I typically do not care about the hall but this was bad. There is something strange happening at this location and it’s not good. Pretty sure the management of this location won’t care about he feedback … but I have been loyal to the IHG grand for two decades and another experience line this and I will never use the brand again.

The staff and service is very good. Great location for anything business or vacation. Rooms are great size and clean which is super important.

While the hotel advertised amenities such as heated pool and hot tub they were not available when we checked in. The hot tub was closed and the pool was not warm enough for swimming. We chose this hotel because of the option for water activities with our son who we knew could not swim at the beach while in town. Also, our room had missing tiles along the bathroom floor and hair from a previous guest in the shower.

I would like to take the time to thank a wonderful and amazing staff member Mr. Demari who is one of the best staff member you have. He was awesome in checking me in and making sure my needs were met and accommodated. He put me in one the best room overlooking the courtyard. He’s the best and you all should hire more people like him with his friendly smile and welcoming sprit. I love this hotel it is one of the best in Carlsbad. This is my hotel go to hotel of choice when I’m traveling for business or pleasure.

Terrible experience.
At check in we were given a sheet of paper with specifics like breakfast times, room cleaning, etc. We reviewed it with the clerk because we like our room refreshed daily. The sheet says that is done M-F. In 10 days we recieved that service 1x after asking 3x. We asked about full cleaning and changing sheets. "Oh, you're a long-term stay so after 1 week" . But that makes no sense, if there 10 days it should be day 5 or 6. NO, THIS IS WHEN WE DO IT. We have no staff to change dates. If you want towels or something let us know. What about daily refresh on paper ... "Oh, that's wrong".
World's worst mattress, had to be 10 years old lumpy and the edges were collapsed. Breakfast, we went down 7 mornings; 5 days sausage in one form or another, once Canadian bacon, once sausage gravy that didn't really have sausage in it. Coffee ran out 3 mornings. Staff was helpful to replace but how isn't this constantly monitored? OJ 2 mornings was watered down. The waffles were excellent but no spray so they didn't stick and after a couple of uses, they had burned on pieces. Bagels were typical of California, really just bread with a hole in the middle. Some mornings not sliced with nothing but a butter knife to try to cut it open. Butter was frozen rock hard and unusable. The pool was was very nice as was the hot tub. I cannot in clear conscience recommend anyone stay here. I posted a similar review on Google and the "owner" responded that he was sorry "I DIDN'T UNDERSTAND THEIR CLEANING POLICIES!". Nonsense. He never addressed mattress or breakfast choices. IHG should be ashamed this is part of their holdings.
