Martin Luther King, Jr. National Historic Site

Tip: Weekends can get very crowded, so consider a weekday excursion. Visiting this important mecca of the American civil-rights movement is a must. Martin Luther King's birth home, grave and church (the Ebenezer Baptist Church) are all within this half-mile stretch of history.

Atlanta Botanical Gardens
