A tranquil wellness escape in the heart of Chicago

Downtown Chicago’s most tranquil wellness escape, our beautiful spa, spans three stories and includes private treatment rooms, two Finnish saunas, and a premier fitness center. Swim 14 stories above the Magnificent Mile in our historic indoor Olympic swimming pool, featuring its original 1920s Spanish tiles and a terra cotta Neptune fountain.

Our culture-rich history

Our hotel was originally built in 1929 as the men’s Medinah Athletic Club, during which time Olympic gold medalist and Tarzan actor, Johnny Wiessmuller, used the swimming pool to train. The building became a hotel in 1944, and opened as InterContinental Chicago Magnificent Mile in March 1990.
