Six Flags Great America is an amusement park

Didier Farms offers a variety of vegetables and flowers in our greenhouse this spring, and our farmers market in summer. During our Pumpkinfest, the last week of September and all of October, corn maze, straw maze, pony rides, camel rides, kiddie rides, pumpkin playland and have an animal land to explore, in beautiful Lake County, Illinois.

Construction on the Cuneo Mansion and Gardens began in 1914 and was completed in 1916 as the home of Samuel Insull, an original founder of the General Electric Company, and designed by Chicago architect Benjamin Marshall in the Italianate style. Its gardens and landscaping were designed by world-renowned landscape architect Jens Jensen. In 1937, John Cuneo Sr. bought the home and lived there with his wife, Julia, and two children, John Jr. and Consuela. John Sr.

When renowned landscape designer O.C. Simonds (1855–1931) conceived plans for the Fort Sheridan army base in 1889, he meticulously merged military needs with the land’s rolling terrain and ecologically sensitive bluffs and ravines while making breathtaking views of Lake Michigan a priority. Our team of landscape architects, ecologists and educators considered many of the same philosophies when planning how the public would experience the site and learn from its unique history.

The National Shrine of St. Maximilian Kolbe at Marytown is a place of pilgrimage for the faithful and is dedicated to promoting the witness and life of St. Maximilian, a Conventual Franciscan friar and priest, martyred in the Holocaust.
