Built in 1854, the beautifully restored Custer House is the only set of surviving officers' quarters from the Fort's earliest days. Filled with period furniture, this house offers a glimpse into military life in the late 1800s. Guided tours are available.

With a full-service marina, swimming beaches and a multi-purpose trails system, Milford State Park is unsurprisingly a favorite getaway for outdoor lovers. Anglers can hook everything from walleye to largemouth bass in the 16,000-acre Milford Reservoir.
While you're at Fort Riley, you won't want to miss a chance to check out the Buffalo Soldier Memorial. The park and monument are dedicated to the African-American members of the 9th and 10th U.S. Cavalry Regiments, who were nicknamed "Buffalo Soldiers."
