Yuma Proving Ground is located in the southern side of Arizona and is one of the widest military bases in the world, allowing for testing of the Army’s most sophisticated weapons, such as artillery systems.

The kids might want to check out the Skatewave Skate Park or Kahuna Lagoon Pool for fun in the sun. The Mittry Lake Wildlife Area is nearby, and you can go camping, hunt small game, or go boating for an afternoon.

Coming on I-8 East from San Diego Take exit 12, Fortuna Rd. Turn left onto Fortuna Rd. Follow to Hwy 95 and turn right. Follow Hwy 95 10.4 miles to Imperial Dam Rd (mile marker 44) and turn left between the big guns. Follow approx. 4.8 miles to the 2nd entrance into YPG.
