Nestled on the northern banks of the Ohio River, Cincinnati is a dynamic city with a personality all its own. Its metropolitan area is the largest in Ohio and still growing, yet it still maintains its friendly Midwestern charm.
Get hands on with marine life at Newport Aquarium, where you can pet a penguin and even stroke a shark! You'll have more animal encounters at Cincinnati Zoo and Botanical Garden. Indulge your cultural side at Cincinnati Art Museum uptown and the ArtWorks Public Art and Murals downtown. Cheer on the local teams at Paul Brown Stadium, home of the Cincinnati Bengals; Nippert Stadium, home of FC Cincinnati; and the Great American Ball Park, home of the Cincinnati Reds. Take it all in at Carew Tower and Observation Deck, a high-rise building that provides unbeatable views of the Cincinnati skyline.
While Cincinnati has a couple of budget chain hotels, most local accommodations cater to the mid-range and luxury market. Mid-range hotels include a mix of familiar chains and independent boutiques. Some well-known names are among its high-end hotels too, although many travelers prefer the charm of the city's luxurious historic establishments dotted around the downtown neighborhood.
Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport is on the Kentucky side of the Ohio River, but the TANK express bus can take you from the airport into the city center. Road trippers can reach Cincinnati via Interstates 71, 74, 75, 471 or 275. Alternatively, Amtrak trains traveling east to New York and Washington DC and west to Chicago all stop at Union Terminal/Cincinnati Museum Center.
