Florence is a small city in Kentucky near the Ohio border. It's about 13 miles southwest of Cincinnati, Ohio. If you're planning a visit to the area, you'll discover plenty of unique attractions worth exploring.
One interesting attraction worth checking out is the Vent Haven Museum. This is the only museum in the world dedicated to ventriloquial figures and memorabilia. The museum has over 900 ventriloquist figures from 20 countries and hundreds of pieces of memorabilia and photographs related to ventriloquism, including replicas of figures used by famous ventriloquist Edgar Bergen.
If you're looking to get outside during your stay in Florence, the Boone County Arboretum offers an excellent opportunity to learn more about the plants that grow in the area and elsewhere. This 121-acre arboretum has over 2.5 miles of walking trails to take you past more than 3,600 trees and shrubs in a landscape setting. With several soccer fields, baseball fields and tennis courts, this is also the first arboretum in the country within an active recreational park setting.
When you're searching for a place to stay during your time in Florence, the area has several options. Most of your hotel choices are in the outskirts of the city. Here you'll find options that go from budget-friendly to mid-range and offer the amenities you need for a comfortable stay.
If you want to drive to Florence, Interstate 75 and 71 run just west of the city. If you want to fly to Florence, the Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport is only 8 miles northwest.
