Square 1682 resides within Philadelphia's Center City, adjacent to Hotel Palomar Philadelphia, and is a tip of the hat to Pennsylvania's founding father William Penn and his insightful creation of the modern city park. In 1682, Mr. Penn created Rittenhouse Square (the "square" in our name) and four other similar plazas in Philadelphia in order to establish urban open spaces in the heart of the city. Stepping into the future while relying on the rearview mirror of the past, Square 1682's design and operations team created a dining and bar establishment that epitomizes Mr. Penn's big thinking.
