One of the most popular attractions in Gulf Shores is Gulf State Park. Here you'll find 2 miles of beach that's the ideal place to set up your beach chair and dig your toes into the sand. However, relaxation isn't the only activity available. There's also a nature center, kayak and paddleboard rentals and 25 miles of trails for walking or biking.
Another fun attraction is the Alabama Gulf Coast Zoo. The zoo is home to over 500 exotic animals, including tigers, lions, leopards, monkeys, wolves and bears. Along with having an opportunity to view animals in their enclosures, you can also sign up to take part in animal encounters with a kangaroo, lemur, sloth or lesser anteater.

There are various ways you can travel to Gulf Shores. If you'd like to fly here, Jack Edwards National Airport is located just 4.5 miles north of the heart of the city. If you'd prefer to drive, Alabama State Route 182 runs east and west and Alabama State Route 59 runs north and south through the area.
