Orange Beach is a small city in Baldwin County, Alabama. It sits on the Gulf of Mexico with Florida's Perdido Key bordering it to the east and Gulf Shores bordering it to the west. Of the city's nearly 16 square miles, 14.7 are land and 1.2 are water. The climate in Orange Beach is humid subtropical, characterized by hot, humid summers and mild or warm winters. Although the population is just under 6,000, the city does draw a number of tourists.
Orange Beach is a hub for water sports enthusiasts interested in fishing, boating, jet skiing and dolphin- and whale-watching. Visitors can reserve a spot on a chartered fishing boat and cast their lines to catch local fish, rent a Jet Ski or take a boat tour to enjoy time on the water. Another local attraction is Adventure Island, an amusement park with go-karts, laser tag, bumper boats, miniature golf and kids areas. The park also has a five-story erupting volcano.
Many of the IHG hotel properties in Orange Beach sit right on the water, offering stunning views of the surrounding beaches. When you choose one of these locations, beach access is easy and convenient. Visitors can also reserve a room at one of the all-suite properties, which include amenities that make you feel like you're at home, including fully equipped kitchens and separate living areas.
The closest airport to Orange Beach is Pensacola International Airport, located 30 miles away. During peak travel seasons, the traffic can be heavy along the Gulf Coast Highway.
