Watford is located in Hertfordshire, within the M25. It's easily accessible by road via the M1 and via train as it is a calling point for many West Coast Main Line services. London Euston is roughly 20 minutes by train from Watford Junction station. Luton and Heathrow airports are about 30 minutes drive away.
The 12th Century Grade I listed St Mary's parish church is one of the town's standout landmarks. Buildings alone do not make up all of Watford's landmarks; the Grand Union Canal passes directly through the town at nearby Cassiobury Park, which is a great place to spend your day.
Although Central London is on its doorstep, do not pass up the opportunity of seeing what Watford itself has to offer. Catch a concert at the Watford Colosseum, which hosts regular classical and popular music events. It is widely regarded as having some of the best acoustics in Europe. The Grade II listed Watford Palace Theatre shows many of its own productions for which it has gained critical acclaim.
Head out to the Intu Watford Shopping Centre (formerly the Harlequin Shopping Centre), which has over 140 stores covering just about anything you might need.
