Vienna State Opera

The Vienna State Opera is one of the most famous opera houses in the world. As the first building on the Ring Street of Vienna it was the foundation of the imperial Ring. The Opera was opened in 1869 and is known as well for the very famous Opernball - a dance taking place each February. You can do a tour during the day or enjoy one of the glamorous events in the evening.

St. Stephen's Cathedral

The St. Stephens Cathedral, which is called “Steffl” by the locals, is Vienna’s cultural landmark. The highest of its famous towers measures a height of 137 metres. After 343 steps, you will reach the top of the tower and enjoy a super impressive view over Vienna. Within the tower there is also its “holy” bell, called Pummerin. The bell was destroyed during the war and reconstructed – now it rings each New Year’s Eve precisely at midnight.

Palace of Schönbrunn

The imperial palace of Schönbrunn, with its gardens, is a definite must-see in Vienna. On a tour through the inside of the pompous palace, you can relive the times of the former imperiators. Originally planned as a hunting lodge, the huge palace later became a summer residence for Maria Theresia. The imperiator Franz Joseph then changed it to his all-year residence. Walking up the little hill in the gardens behind the palace, you'll find the Gloriette, with its stunning view.

Wiener Prater

The "Wiener Prater", also called Würstelprater, is known as the Viennese attraction park. With its big ferris wheel, it is famous throughout the borders of Vienna and even Austria. But in reality, the Prater is much more than a theme park. It is a huge recreation area in the second district of Vienna with a lot of grassland, sport centres for all kinds of activities, and is very popular amongst locals for running, walking, and cycling.

Over the years, it became one of the most important museums worldwide - you can find collections spanning over 5,000 years. Beside the impressive museum with all its exhibitions, you will find as well an imposing restaurant within this historic building.

Palace of Belvedere

Prince Eugen of Savoyen decided after the wins of the Turkish wars to treat himself with a palace in Vienna, built on the model of the Palace of Versailles. The palace, consisting of two buildings and a huge baroque garden in between became very famous in 1955. On May 1st, a very important day for Austria, the State Treaty of Vienna of 1955 was signed on the Belvedere's Balcony. Today, it is one of Austria's most famous museums.

Vienna Imperial Palace

Until the year 1918, Vienna's Imperial Palace was the residence of the emperor's family. The imposing, historical building is located in Vienna's first district and is today not only the place of work for our president, but also a gallery with a lot of historic artwork.

Naschmarkt

The vibrant Nachmarkt is around the corner of our hotel and is the place where locals gather at all times of the day. Besides the many different spices, all kinds of fruits and vegetables, and other specialities you can buy there, you will find a lot of different types of bars and restaurants with cuisines from all over the world. Furthermore, a flea market takes place every Saturday morning – if you want to find something extraordinary, start at 6 am and take your time to find a hidden treasure

Central cemetery

With some of its graves built in art nouveau, the Central Cemetery is a special but famous sight in Vienna. You can even take a guided tour, as the cemetery one of the three biggest cemeteries in Europe. Besides the graves of Austria's presidents, many people go to the cemetery as well to visit the graves of Austrian musicians and legends like Falco or Udo Jürgens.
