I have stayed at this hotel once or twice a year for the past four or five years. Always clean and comfortable. Breakfast is excellent. The staff is amazing, always friendly and helpful. This last stay was for a funeral and the date of the service was changed at the last minute. I called the hotel manager and they accommodated my need to stay an extra day no problem. I will always stay at this hotel when visiting Cedar Rapids.

Service at this location is lacking. Never more than 1 person staffed. Sleeper couch not equipped with bedding. When asked for bedding was told hotel was fully booked and they didn’t have extra bedding. I had to borrow from a friend staying in room that they didn’t need the bedding in their closet. Our checkin was on a W and by Friday no housekeeping.
Sticky dirty kitchen floor. Bathroom dirty. Garbage in room and needed clean towels. Had to clear own garbage and go to front desk to get my own towels. Was told to put dirty outside my door. Sat there for 3 days. just gross!
Keys continually didn’t work. Had to reset 5x during stay.
Front desk staff on W-F was rude. Unprofessional.
Given the brand would have expected far better hospitality. Ran like a motel.

The room was nasty and the trash can was running over with trash.
The sheets were also nasty and we don’t think they were changed. The breakfast area was a disaster with food in the counters everywhere.
Floors and walls were very thin. A very cheap put together hotel and we would not stay here again!

I just completed my expense report for work and discovered a $100 incidental charge for my stay at this hotel. I contacted IHG to let them know and they also transferred me to the hotel and I spoke with the General Manager who was unwilling to listen to reason. The GM of the hotel stated that the charge was for a bleach stain to their carpet. I replied that if there was a stain it was not from me. The carpeting in front of the air conditioner was soaking wet with water and the windows were actually not sealed properly so the wind and rain storm that was happening that night was actually blowing the shades around. I did not inform the hotel because it was so late and I had worked and traveled all day and by the time I discovered this it was so late and I was so exhausted. So I just covered the soaking wet carpet with towels. Towels at a hotel are also bleached so perhaps the towels ran into the soaking wet carpeting that I layed them on. When I left the next morning I was going to notify someone but there was no one at the front desk.
The General Manager of the hotel said they have pictures of the stain. I asked her to send me those pictures dated and time stamped with the date I checked out as well as current pictures of the stain dated and time stamped to which she said she would and she took my phone number and repeated it back to me and has yet to send me pictures and this was over 2 hours ago. In addition, who is more likely to have bleach, me as the patron staying in a hotel room for the night or the cleaning staff with their chemicals?
I also asked the GM of the hotel that I spoke with why I wasn't notified of the damage and the charge to which she replied, I'm sorry and you should have been. But I wasn't and this is a terrible way to do business and an outright lie.
I love your brand and have never been so disappointed as I am right now in how this is being handled. This is a terrible way of doing business on the part of this hotel.

The room was terrible and the internet and tv wasn’t working and nobody helped us. The bed was like we were sleeping on a board and the bathroom had a banging noise and we had to shut off all the lights for it to stop. AC wasn’t working. Will never stay here again

Fantastic hotel! Spacious suites with large kitchens, social hours with food and beer and wine and a friendly and helpful staff! We stayed at several IHG hotels on a multi-state road trip (including other Staybridge hotels) and this one was the best by far! We wish the other hotels were half as good as this one. Highly recommend!!

So the service was wonderful. Everyone we dealt with was pleasant for the most part. The room we were originally assigned was nice but the AC in the living room wouldn’t work so they switched us to a different room. All seemed fine except in this room, the AC didn’t work in the bedroom. Maintenance came to look at it and said it was working and TOOK the thermostat with them, told us just to manually put it on high cool. It didn’t cool off for the remainder of our stay. The breakfast was lackluster. Nothing was fresh, it was all crusty and the sausage was like eating a frisbee. There were no opportunities to attend the social as they didn’t host one on the Fourth of July. Gavin from the front desk was a doll, and very kind. I’d recommend the hotel because these all could have been flukes… rooms were spacious and the patio was delightful. Not horrible!

This was a very nice place to stay. The room was very clean. The staff, super friendly and helpful. The bed was super comfortable. Breakfast could have been better though

We stayed at this location in Cedar Rapids based on previous stays in other locations with fairly high expectations. Sadly to say, we were a bit let down. The hotel grounds were mostly clean, just the usual little things here and there on the ground. Checking in was a simple process as always, however, that's where it stopped. Our room was on the third floor (keep that in mind). We got to the room and at first glance it looked really good, until we went into the bathroom. Thankfully we were only there overnight and didn't need to use the shower. The back half of the bottom looked like someone had tried peeling layers of fiberglass or whatever it was off. We went about our business and then came back and went to bed. Got up the next morning, went to take the elevator downstairs for breakfast. THE ELEVATOR WAS OUT OF ORDER! No signs anywhere. So we went down the steps which to be honest, looked like someone just said... eh they don't need carpeting. So they didn't and just left painted steel stairs. Then to top it off the breakfast (which to be fair is impacted by current health events) was almost empty of everything at 8:30 on a Saturday morning. Needless to say, after hiking down, up, and then back down carrying luggage, we were more than ready to leave. I definitely won't write Staybridge Suites off completely as I've had wonderful experiences before, but most likely won't be back to this one.
