Air con did not work

We had a poor experience at this hotel. Got to NYC early and dropped off our bags. Staff said they’d call us when room was ready but they didn’t. Not a huge deal. Our air conditioning was not turned on when we got in at 9:30pm, so turned it on. Loud fan was running so we assumed it on. It was quite warm all night and in morning told staff it did not work. They said they’d have it looked at. When we got back late that night the air con was still not working. We had to call them at 10pm to ask about why it was still warm. 15 minutes later they told us it couldn’t be fixed and we could either move rooms or get sent a fan. Bad experience for a very warm 87 degree weekend in July. Staff should have kept in contact with us about the issue.

I will say the exercise items take up valuable space. Perhaps offer to remove them for guests not using them.
The handheld on our shower did not work and I forgot to tell the staff at checkout so you may want to look at fixing or replacing that.

This was the worst hotel experience in NYC. $785 for 2 nights. First off, I paid for a “ city view” and my room looked directly into the adjacent building on 44th street. Young lady at check in was not very helpful or nice. I asked a question and her response was “ you can check the directory” I finally get settled in to my room and while my daughter is getting dressed, maintenance barged in without knocking. When I called to complain, the managed called me uninterested and simply stated that “ he had to check the pipes, he didn’t know it was occupied’ Common sense would tell a person to simply knock! The fridge in the room did not work and it smelled like fish, therefore that was a waste. Here’s the kicker! After checking out, myself and my child who just had surgery, are exiting the elevator and another guest decided go argue with me because I said “ excuse me” My child was in pain and still recovering from her procedure and we had to experience being called the “N” in our hotel lobby. The worst experience ever and I will never book this hotel or any Hotel related to you! Train your staff better and follow up on the overall conditions of the rooms. The only good experience was the housekeeper. She was very nice and helpful. There was also a nice young lady at the front desk on Thursday evening. Maybe you all should let her train your staff on customer service skills.

My family and I, couldn’t had a better experience, such a great place, location and the amazing staff.
I wanna great all the staff that helped me during my stay, specially to Jean Pierre who helped me out since day one.

Love the IHG brand but not all franchises are the same.
Stayed at EVEN Midtown East Dec. 21-24. Good experience on balance but we had a $80+ charge for the restaurant that was not ours. Can't seem to get anyone's attention to resolve.

Staff is nice, location is good, but rooms are minimal. It’s very hard to have a couple and a child in the same room. There’s not even space for opening your suitcases and else. The mini gym gear at the room is useless and that space should have been used to improve the available space for guests.

Enjoyed my stay, staff were friendly and accommodating, stored my luggage for hours which was helpful so we wouldn’t walk around NY with it.
BEWARE if you prepay for your stay - it could COST YOU DOUBLE!

We prepaid for our 5-night stay, and the hotel proceeded to charge us again upon checkout. The hotel Manager now has proof of payment from the 3rd party, yet refuses to return emails and phone calls regarding the refund of the duplicate amount. We've never experienced such unprofessional behavior in all of our travels.
Aside from calling the front desk and leaving a message with whoever answers, there is no way to leave a voice mail to the manager or accounting dept directly. The hotel staff do not acknowledge email inquiries or return phone messages, and the IHG Hotels online robot chat leaves you in an endless and useless loop, with nothing resolved.
This hotel and its chain will never see our business again, especially given all of the other great options out there.

I arrived in NYC and immediately got hurt. Maria at the front desk made sure my room was held while I was at the ER….going above and beyond and even getting me a bath seat! She was fabulous. The HIGHLIGHT of my trip was the AMAZING Ricardo behind the bar. I was stuck at the hotel with my injuries and he made my evenings fun and interesting. He is great at his job and such a great person and employee! Without him I would’ve had some depressing lonely evenings at the hotel. He made me feel cared for and was so genuinely kind. I can’t compliment him enough! He deserves a raise and all the great tips.

Ricardo, the bartender at the hotel bar was very cordial, funny, and helpful.
Our entire experience at this hotel was very pleasant.
