I am writing about a terrible experience I had at the Staybridge Suites Mount Laurel. I booked this hotel because i love IHG hotels and the only hotel in the area with an indoor pool and we were in town with my 5 yr old for his birthday to go to Diggerland. We had 4 different family members book rooms here with their children. When I arrived at the hotel there was a document I was made to sign regarding smoking, parties, and a $250 deposit. Also, I was sure to ask was it ok to have a few balloons and cupcakes. I was told we could not have a party and I was ok with that because my son’s birthday celebration was at Diggerland. We traveled from Baltimore Maryland and wanted to sing happy birthday. I was told if we had a party we could loose our $250 deposit. I totally understood that. I was nervous to even have the few children gather together to do so because of how bad the front desk attendant made me aware of this. I was so upset Saturday evening when trying to go to the pool there was a full blown pool birthday party going on in the pool area. There were full plates of food, speakers with extremely loud music, and people everywhere. The worst part is that more than half of these people were not guest of the hotel! They were guest of the guest. My son and his cousins who he don’t get to see much due to living in different states. We got in the pool for about 15 minutes. It was so overwhelming and we was not able to enjoy the amenities I paid for with my stay. We saw several families leaving the hotel shortly after the pool closed. Getting in cars. There was a party in room 243. I’ve heard them tell people to go there to get changed for the pool. The fact that I paid more for this stay than the rates at other places in the same area just for the indoor pool facility and wasn’t even able to use it for over 15min was horrible. You guys make guests sign these waivers but then don’t enforce the rules. To say the least it was very disappointing. I’ll never return to this hotel ever again and will most likely discourage anyone I know to never stay here as well. The front desk attendant was very nice however made sure to enforce the rules to me and to see a full blown pool party happening was not ok.

This hotel is the best among all Staybridge I stayed. It offered better choice of hot breakfast and every Monday to Wednesday, it also offer hot refreshments-social time at late evening. Recommended!

Dear Joe Pergine, I will tell you about my experience which was my worst experience in an IHG hotel; I am a member and have used IhG hotels in some cities, however this was a terrible experience; First, the rooms are very old and poorly cleaned, who would use a DVD in 2024? Second, every day I fought for someone to clean my rooms and the only thing I got was a change of towels and something superficial, the treatment of the staff. The front desk is terrible. As a customer, I felt bad that they don't say hello and even worse, they ask for a favor and they are very angry! At first glance, the pool is cleaned quickly and chlorinated, nothing more than the facilities are very dirty and rusty; Today I am in SC Staybridge and this hotel really deserves 5 stars, I would not return to NJ for that experience. I hope this is useful to improve everything at all.

This is the nastiest IHG hotel I’ve ever stayed in. The receptionist at the desk is rude and not very professional. There was mold growing in the shower. Disgusting place that has led me to choose not to stay at IHG properties anymore in the future.

I have been staying at this hotel often.. Usually the only hotel I go to that’s comfortable for me and my children.. This past weekend was the first time of many visits that I had an issue! I slept on the couch bed and my 8yr old and 3 yr old slept in bedroom. I went in the room next morning only to find blood stains on the sheets!! Needless to say the bedding WAS NOT CHANGED! Some guy game to take a picture and that was it! I have yet to receive a call from management or anything about this! Utterly DISGUSTED!! IF YOU STAY HERE PULL THE COVERS BACK AND INSPECT INSPECT INSPECT!!!

Never believe anything that anyone there tells you. May stay went from 102/Night to 199/Night although I had prove showing the error, no one would do anything to correct the error.

Okay. I get the hotel is dated but it was an awful experience. I could hear everything that my neighbors did including but not limited to using the restroom. The beds were awful. My toilet leaked. There was NO evening reception. They had some lettuce and dollar tree eggrolls. The staff were not accommodating. It was a very nice young man on my last day working the front desk. This hotel has really needs work.

We had 2 bedroom with 3 queen beds. Layout was nice rooms good size but it was very run down- table wobbled and only had 2 chairs. Couch and chair for living room was so dirty we didn’t want to use it. Hardly any dishes and only 2 spoons - carpets had nasty stains. We were surprised it was an IHG resorts. People clearly smoking in the rooms and could smell it- just gross. Pool was too crowded to use. Wouldn’t go back

I chose this hotel based on the overall positive reviews, the previous trips I stayed at a competitor hotel which has really gone downhill. So let's start with the good: 1) this is a very large hotel so the room selection would naturally be varied and numerous 2) my 1 bedroom king suite was very comfortable and I really like having a full size kitchen with full size fridge 3) The A/C worked TOO good (I happen to be there during the hottest week in September in almost 50+ years) and I can promise you will NOT sweat in their rooms 4) the staff were generally very polite and professional 5) the daily free breakfast was pretty decent and 6) the location was really nice - you could easily walk to several restaurants and a Wal-Mart was also within walking distance.
Let's move on to the NOT so good: 1) I have NO idea why such a LARGE complex would only have 1 elevator that you always had to wait (so much so that I just took the stairs even though my room was on the 3rd floor 2) I had to call twice to get my final hotel bill emailed to me (the front desk said my email address was not on the account - but I could not understand why I received multiple requests by email from IHG asking about my stay after I checked out 3) the equipment in the fitness center needs serious updating (I've seen Used Cars that looked better) and 4) Although I stayed here for 3 nights - the 2nd and 3rd night I was charged $75.00 ADDITIONAL PER NIGHT. Yes, I understand that on weekends demand goes up (I took economics in undergrad and grad school) and when demand goes up, supply goes down - and prices rise. I get that. What really ruffles my feathers is that on the weekends - you actually get LESS value for the increase in room rates (NO room service and NO complimentary social hour). The response from the front desk was "everybody does the same" (sorry, that's not a good response). So - would I stay at this hotel again in the future? Only during the week. Why should I pay more for LESS service on the weekends?

I booked this hotel with the expectation of the stay advertised on their website, “To relax and unwind in spacious suites.” Instead, I was forced to manage the safety of my family from garbage bags, medical trash, and boxes left in the hallway near the door directly across the hall from my room. From the moment I opened my door every morning and a few times daily I communicated to the front desk personnel the need for trash to be removed. My stay was from August 16, 2022 – August 19, 2022.
On the good days, the trash was removed relatively quickly. However, by day 3 of my stay, I was told by James “That’s the way it is.” I was told by Shawn “The trash can’t be removed because the owner of the trash did not call to have it removed.” The worst was when the manager, Andrew, could not or would not be contacted by Shawn. Only after I threatened to call the Health Department to “Remove trash to protect my family” was the trash removed.
The vacation advertised on the Staybridge Suites website was not what I received. Instead, my stay left me feeling unsafe, scared and harassed. Since we traveled as a group, this experience affected not only myself but the vacations of my children and grandchildren too.
