Disappointing End to an Extended Stay

I stayed at this hotel for nearly three months during a project. Unfortunately, my experience ended on a very sour note. The front desk staff was extremely rude and refused to accommodate a one-day room extension. When I asked for just an hour to pack my belongings, they threatened to call the police if I didn’t vacate the room within five minutes. Being forcibly ejected after spending $10,000 on my stay was incredibly disappointing.

Our washer drain line fell victim to the Texas arctic blast and we had to stay here for 7 days while our wood flooring was replaced. The restoration crew originally estimated a completion date of March 12th, but they actually completed the work on March 5th, a full week ahead of schedule. We are locals and live approximately 1.7 miles from here, so it was convenient and did not require a great deal of travel time. Smooth and efficient experience from check-in to check-out. I have to give this property 5 stars, because before we even left our house, I phoned the front desk and Chris Patel - the General Manager - went out of his way to accomodate us for an early check-in. I thought that was very kind of him considering our situation. Anyone else (I suppose) would have asked us to return closer to the 3pm check-in time, and I was grateful for the opportunity. When we checked in, he greeted us with a smile and thanked us for being an IHG Member and also let us know what amenities there were and where they were located.
This property boasts an upscale, modern vibe and their rooms are immaculate. I especially enjoyed their kitchenettes for those times where my Mom and I didn't feel like eating outside at a restaurant. We had a 2 queen 1 bedroom suite on the 4th floor. They also had DirecTV so we were set for the week. Their hot breakfast was also a nice touch every morning. Fruit, granola, potatoes, and gosh - those biscuits - they are something else! So good! Water was hot just like I like it; albeit low water pressure. Not a huge deal and not knocking a star off my review because the rest of the stay was smooth.
Housekeeping was upon request - which we appreciated. Having been an extended stay guest, we opted for housekeeping service every other day. At the very least, we would request trash pick-up and replacement of bed linens and with the limited Spanish I knew, I was able to somewhat communicate with the lady servicing the room. Beds were comfortable as was the temperature in the room.
The General Manager (Chris Patel) and Micah (sp?) were the true standouts during our 7-day stay at this property. There was also a very sweet blonde-haired lady that was very helpful as well, but I forgot to ask her name. I would definitely choose to stay here again in the future if we should ever need to relocate temporarily.

I stayed here last year for several months. And it was great to see familiar and friendly faces still on staff. Leo is an absolute doll, and greeted me by name with a huge smile! I came back hoping to see him again! He’s one of the best around at making you feel welcome! I’ll always stay here when I’m in the area!
Horrible stay and owner

I stayed here for 3 months and I was paying for 3-4 days at a time and they were giving me the extended stay rate and then when I went to pay for another 3-4 nights the owner said I had to pay i week in advance or leave. When I don’t get paid like that they were working with me for over 3 months then made me my wife and 3 kids leave because we couldn’t do that and didn’t know when our house would be done. Also the front desk staff is awful i wouldnt recommend ever staying here on how they treat people and switch up their policies with no warning

Spent right at $1000 dollars for 2 rooms/3 nights. Overpriced but having stayed in many Staybridge hotels in the past, thought it would be pleasant. Had to change one of the rooms when we added a night to our stay, as no suites available for the extra night. Moved to an open concept room but kept high rate associated with suite. New room had no blankets for the pull out couch. Front desk person was overwhelmed by other unhappy guests and was stating she did not have a key to housekeeping and therefore could not provide us with blankets and apparently other guests with towels or soap as there were two other guests complaining at front desk at same time I was requesting blankets. Bed sheets in other room had blood stains from a previous guest.
Breakfast was a joke, rude people operating that area. Offering styrofoam plates instead of regular plates and a very very limited menu unlike normally offered at Staybridge. Front desk person blamed all issues on recent buyout and new owners. Too me, it looked like new owners shaving costs by limiting breakfast and hiring inexperienced housekeepers and front desk staff, or possibly just not having enough staff to efficiently run a hotel to standards IHG usually produces. I am a Platinum Elite member (have yet to receive points for this stay also) but will steer clear of IHG properties in this area for the foreseeable future.
