West Palm Beach is the county seat of Palm Beach County and one of the main cities in the southern part of Florida. The population as of 2016 is 108,896, which marks nearly an 8 percent increase since 2010. West Palm Beach is part of the Miami metropolitan area, which has more than 6 million residents. Its tropical climate keeps the temperatures high throughout the year, with averages above 64 degrees every month.
When visiting West Palm Beach, you can find activities and attractions for all ages. McCarthy's Wildlife Sanctuary is a top destination, where visitors ages 6 and older can get up-close views of more than 170 animals, including panthers, lemurs, tigers and lions. Take a walk along Clematis Street, which shows off the historic heart of the city and features shops, bars and restaurants. If you enjoy paintings and sculpture, visit the Norton Museum of Art to view the impressive collection of Ralph H. Norton.
Visitors can choose from a variety of IHG hotel properties located throughout the neighborhoods and areas of West Palm Beach. Some hotels are near the airport for easy access when arriving into and departing from the city. If you plan to see the sights, book a hotel in the downtown area so you can explore on foot.
Travel to West Palm Beach through the Palm Beach International Airport. Within the city, the Tri-Rail commuter rail system offers service from Mangonia Park to Miami. A free downtown trolley also provides free transportation throughout Clematis, the Waterfront District and City Place.
